        Only use Avis or Budget rental at PIE airport if you want to sit and wait for an hour and a half for your pre-placed reservation (they do not have a "secure lot" and have only a few people working so after waiting in a nice long line at the counter to check in you get to wait another hour plus for someone to bring the car up)

        We stood in line for over two hours before we finally reached the counter. After the counter, it took another 20 minutes to get the car ready. I spent more time at Avis trying to get my rental car than I did on the plane ride from Michigan! Once we got the car, it was filthy. The exterior was dirty with hard water spots on the windshield and body damage. The interior was dirty, maybe the half-eaten cookies in the back seat were a gift from Avis.
