Located very close to Port Everglades they run shuttles to and from the cruise port. They rent Avis, Budget and one other car company and the line was very long. I finally got my rental car at 11:00 when my reservation was for 9:30. The vehicle was fairly clean inside but could have used a wash outside. I returned the car to the airport location and it was a very long walk to the terminal 1 which was the closest terminal. I was also charged about $30 more than my original contract showed. The car was returned on time and I had the gas option. They also put a $250 hold on my credit card which was removed two days later.

New update: AVIS continues to ignore the incident, their customer service agents hang up o the phone now when asked for a refund. Previous update: AVIS CONTINUES TO IGNORE THE INCIDENT AS EXPECTED, THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED A REASON FOR RENTING A CAR WITH BALD TIRES AND ONE DID NOT OFFER TO EXCHANGE THE CAR, TWO NEVER EVEN OFFERED A CREDIT OR REFUND. Previous update: I AM EDITING THIS AS AVIS PRETENDS TO CARE BY REPLYING TO THIS POST WITH A MESSAGE SAYING TO EMAIL THEM WITH A CERTAIN NUMBER AS IF THEY ARE GOING TO HELP AND THEN THEY NEVER REPLY, INSTEAD YOU GET AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE. SO CORRUPT. Initial review: Your company has truly degraded in every sense of the word, your customer service couldnt be more incapable, you guys rented me a 12 passenger van with damaged tires and were incapable of providing a replacement putting my entire family in danger, tires were sleeks and with no tread left. I have photos and videos. Your 1800 team is beyond ignorant about protocols and procedures to help the customer and your branches simply dont pick up the damn phone. Its beyond ridiculous and this entire experience has been disgusting!! I will speak to an attorney about this, youll be hearing from them. I better not get charged and be given the credit I was told I would get .

Big scam. I had paid my rental in advance, but some how Avis charged me additional 242.44 $. I had not asked og accepted additionel. They have charged me 10 $ per day for an upgrade I didn't requested and an undefined fee of 142.44 $ for a 10 day rentel. They try to put additionel fees on with out telling you. It is a big scam.

An extremely horrible experience, I received a car which should not be on the road in the first place. The tire was patched on the side, and the tire should have been completely replaced. But somehow, the QA team passed it. This shows how much Avis cares for your safety. The faulty tire could have caused significant damage to the car and to my family. Upon asking for a replacement, I was met with rude employees with completely unacceptable behavior. I was charged even more for a replacement class vehicle and spent one whole day of my vacation dealing with this whole issue. Stay away from Avis and go to a better rental car company where you can be treated with respect and fairness and not end up ruining your vacation.
