Be careful, the representatives will lie to you about overdraft protection requirements and even the way it works when you apply for an account! I have been a loyal customer in good standing with these guys for 6 years now and JUST got notified that there are NO requirements for overdraft protection, and even then it's not really protection, It was the ONLY reason i even agreed to opening an account with them. So you know their "overdraft protection" enables the bank to charge you $36 for every charge over $5.00 to your account if your account balance is low and doesn't actually have the funds to complete said transaction, and $36 for every "posted" (keep in mind posted means that it's been pushed from pending status in their systems) charge thereafter instead of just declining payments when your account doesn't have enough to complete the transaction so you don't get hit with any fees you just get declined for the purchase.
So for starters I was falsely led to opt into services, and was told that I would have been opted OUT if the requirements weren't met... but never was opted out. Secondly The "Available Balance" that you are shown on the website and via the app are both fabricated. They are NOT your actual balance.
You will never actually know what your "Available Balance" is because they do not update their pending transactions until 2-3 days AFTER the merchant has cleared any charges (this was confirmed by the branch manager of this location & a phone representative). The bank manager of this location tried to tell me that it was the merchants and VISA holding the transactions not the Bank, he lied hardcore. To verify the charges that were made that they're tacking these fees onto I contacted VISA and they confirmed that the transactions that this bank is trying to charge me overdraft fees for were cleared by the merchants over 72 hours ago while my accounts were still positive, so they SHOULD have cleared on the bank's end this past Monday morning except for 3 transactions that were made yesterday. The bank's systems still had the same confirmed cleared transactions as pending, except for 1 transaction that I made yesterday morning) and NOW that my account got put negative the transactions are all magically posting with overdraft fees attached with dates later than when they were made and cleared DO NOT BANK WITH THIS SHADY COMPANY!!! If you have fallen victim, make sure YOU WATCH YOUR ACCOUNTS!!!!! I'd highly suggest clearing your accounts, finding a better institution and if you HAVE to use a bank, and immediately switch. These guys are literally stealing your money.
P.S. Instead of rectifying their blatant dishonesty and screw up, they're instead threatening to send my account to collections so it hits my credit. This is primarily why I don't trust banks!!!
Update: no one that can actually assist has done so, instead my balance has increased by 300, only social media people are trying to contact me but they can't do anything to actually look into this issue. I've talked to other bank managers of other banks & US Bank is the ONLY bank that pulls what they pulled with my account as well as multiple other individuals. These guys are true scum.
