Tim, Jesse, and Elizabeth at GSL helped us replace 6 failed windows in our home. The service was exceptional. They provided excellent suggestions and were always prompt in responding. We give them and GSL a top recommendation. They suggested that Trinity Windows do the installation. Brad and Mike at Trinity are highly qualified and very professional.The new Marvin windows are beautiful and very well manufactured with no flaws. Home retrofits can be frustrating. but thanks to the GSL team, our project could not have had a better outcome.

Not a trustworthy organization - I would not hire them or trust their work!! Look elsewhere They hit my parked car with one of their pickup trucks and then attempted to flee the scene and ultimately denied responsibility. They told me on the phone they would take care of it and AGAIN denied responsibility. If this is a representation of their business practices, I suggest looking for any alternatives. This is not someone I would want to do business with!

Without a doubt no one should ever work with this company. I ordered for more than $65K of windows and doors with them including about $35K of Fleetwood doors in May of 2022. Having not received an ETA for delivery of these doors, in October I asked what was going on with my order. The sales guy told me that the lead time had been 36-38 weeks at time of order (~ 9 months). Come January I ask again what is going on with my order, and I'm told that there might be delays. Frustrated by this situation I contact Fleetwood directly to ask how it is possible that it would take 9 months to get the doors that I ordered and that again I am told of further delays. The Fleetwood owner contacted me on Yelp as he was very surprised by the lead time that I was being quoted and asked his North California representative to look into it, which she did and contacted me. It turns out that even though I approved the quote and Golden State cashed my check on June 1st 2022, the order never made it to Fleetwood's system until October 10th 2022, 4.5 months later. It turns out that when I enquired about what was going on with my order in October, the Golden State Lumber sales guy realized that the order was never put in with Fleetwood and only then corrected his mistake. Instead of coming clean and admitting to the mistake (regardless of who was responsible), he pretended like nothing happened and tried to sweep it under the rug suggesting that all these delays were normal. He had multiple opportunities to tell me what was going on when I repeatedly asked for updates to my order, but didn't. It's only because I contacted Fleetwood directly that I was made aware of the deception. Mistakes happen.. everyone makes them. In particular I know that this sales guy had a lot of personal things going on his life at the time, so I understand that this might have slipped through the cracks. But instead of owning up to the mistake and making it up to me as a customer who has spent a significant amount of money with them he lied about it and blamed it on Fleetwood. I will never do business with these people again, and highly recommend that no ones does either.

Full story: I have a contractor installing a door in my home and he asked me to come by to pick up the hardware (door hinges) and to pick out the door knob. He ordered the door with Golden State and said he works with them a lot and that they're very particular but good. He gave me all the information I needed (interior door, size of door etc.) to identify the order and determine the right hardware. However, the staff could not accept that I knew what I was talking about, insisted I get the contractor on the phone, and then spent all of five seconds confirming the information I had already given to them. One employee, TOM, refused to look up my order as another had done, and was particularly dismissive and quite frankly in this scenario his behavior borders on misogyny. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Why did you HAVE to hear this information from a MAN in order to move forward? Felt very disrespected and unbelieved because of my gender.

Don't bother going here for windows, doors or hardware for these.  We tried twice!  The customer service was terrible both times!  The first time no one else was there but they could not be bothered to look up prices and different configurations of Emtek door handle for a bathroom (which they carry!), even though there was no one else there and they were just sitting around.  We were also shopping for a place to buy a new Marvin door.  We obviously decided not to buy it here.We ended up buying the Emtek doorknob from a distributor in Los Angeles while we were down there visiting family where the staff was so nice and helpful!!!  This showroom and store was a thousand times better and the staff were trained to give customer service!!! But we live in SF. So, the second time we tried again to find a part we needed for another door.  Again, the staff was unhelpful and really borderline hostile. I really don't know why a store would hire such salespeople who are unqualified,  incompetent, socially inept.Do not bother going here.  I know it is hard to find a good place to order windows and doors in SF.  We are still looking.(Check out Bruce B.'s review- he agrees)
