Being referred here over the summer was the final gift that my late and great Dr. Kundu blessed me with, and for that I will always be grateful to him...truly an Angel on earth and now in Heaven. So about 30 years ago, I was involved in a hit and run while riding a bike (sounds like some other person on Yelp) and did not receive medical treatment other than an ice pack and Tylenol. Other than being SUPER sore, I did not think twice about it and went about my daily activities shortly after. Fast forward several years and I was really starting to experience pain. I went to the Dr. and they examined me and ordered some tests. The tests came back negative, however the Dr. was able to physically feel an abnormality, and they did an exploratory surgery. Surgery was done, they told me what they did and sent me on my way. This would be only 1 of 5 surgeries for the same issue that I would endure in total. Enter Dr. Fathi. I was referred to him by my long time Dr. who assured me that Dr. Fathi was one of the best, and that he would fix whatever the problem was...and that was no lip service. My appointment here was seamless, my other Dr took care of all of the paperwork and appointment making, all I had to do was show up. I got in relatively quick considering I was a new patient. This office is located in the East Medical Plaza in Kashian Lane and is on the 2nd floor in Suite. 220. The wait time was also really quick and the office staff is super friendly!!! The very second that Dr. Fathi introduced himself to me, he said that he knew what my problem was. Naturally, I was a bit skeptical having had 4 previous failed surgeries...the last one only being a few months ago. The Dr. had not even physically examined me, or ordered any imaging tests so how could he possibly be so confident??? Dr. Fathi had done his homework prior to my visit and he went through imaging that I had done years ago. He even brought them up on his large computer screen and pinpointed the problem, he even let me screenshot the images so that I could have for my own records. My jaw dropped to the floor as I was in disbelief, nothing could've prepared me for my diagnosis!!! What was especially shocking was finding out that the prior 4 surgeries were for a problem that I have NEVER even had, mind blown. I was prepared to go to this appt and have him tell me that there was nothing that he could do. The Dr. wanted to operate the next week, but for a surgery of this magnitude I needed more time to prepare and to wrap my mind around and he was more than understanding and worked with me to schedule a date. The day of surgery came and went off without a hitch. The Dr. came in and explained the surgery again in detail. Since I am a little twisted, I asked the Dr. if I could keep a souvenir, he laughed and told me that wasn't possible...so he did the next best thing, he took pics while I was in surgery on his phone!!! I just had to see what had been a pain in my side for 3 decades. The surgery was a success, and not only did he eliminate the problem...he also cleaned up the work/damage that was left over from my previous surgeries. What was really great is that in addition to the prescribed meds, the Dr also gave me a nerve block for optimal pain relief...this made a world of difference. Follow up appointments have been great and I'm happy to say there have been no complications (much to the dismay of some). Dr. Fathi, besides being a skilled surgeon and coming highly recommended from his peers, has an IMPECCABLE bedside manner. He is very soft spoken and jovial and I have the utmost confidence in his skills as a surgeon and would not hesitate to recommend him to my closest friends and family.
