Extended Stay America - St Louis - Westport - East Lackland Rd.

I enjoyed my stay here. I travel a lot for work, so one of the most important things to me is a good, competent staff. The hotel is the hotel. Extended Stays don't purport to be the Ritz Carlton. The reason I stayed so long in this one location even though it was about 20 miles outside my work area us because of the great staff. I want to especilly thank Sierra & Elizabeth (Liz) for going the extra mile to make my stay stress free. I would defineitely stay here again.

On the outside this place looked promising. My wife and I traveled from western NY and were looking forward to unwinding and resting before hitting the road again the following morning. Upon arrival at 6:45 PM the service desk/ main office was empty. We waited for half an hour before we were able to check into our room. While the room was plastered with no smoking signs and logos it had clearly been smoked in. This was evident by the Smokey aroma of cigarettes and weed, accompanied by burn marks in the floors of the bathroom and carpet around the bed. The signs for no smoking were laughable. This was not a pleasant stay and we will encourage anyone who can afford to stay else where to do that.

After a pleasant check in, every minute was like staying at a transient half-way house. If you are a Business Traveller, DO NOT STAY HERE, if you are on vacation, DO NOT STAY HERE, if you are passing through, DO NOT STAY HERE The broken state of the rooms (or entire property), does not even compare to the level of unsafety or security we experiened during our 1.5 days there Checking in was fine. Then I was followed by a random man wanting money or something, following me, this happened several times, same man. I believe he lives there as while I was checking in, he was asking about paying his rent. He stumbled up to us many times during our 36 hour stay, wanting cash or cigarettes. Try to sleep? Techno music rattled our walls from 3am until 8am. Small break until 10am Then random men in hoodies start banging on the door next door next morning. Breakfast? Grab + Go = Granola Bar & watered down coffee. The Quick Trip next door is your better option. Then another different random guy sat down outside next door calling & swearing & pounding looking for neighbor. He was persistent. It lasted for hours. It was frightening. We could not vacate fast enough. Will NEVER return to this Extended Stay. This does not even cover the actual GROSS room, see pictures The room was just GROSS Hair in the tub, nothing wiped, warped doors, stains, so much GROSS Could not wait to leave Safety: It is not a profession Extended

The staff works hard to make it a good experience for the guests. But it's only so much they can do with the hotel being old and rundown. Room was stuffy and had a dusty smell window could not stay up. Lights were dimmed and buzzing when turned on. Rooms: Need to be gutted and renovated , carpet dingy and smells. Lighting is dark and everything is just outdated. Hotel seems very busy .
