Ive used Wentworth and Sloan for everything. First they took my great grandmothers diamond and custom made a beautiful engagement ring for my wife thats constantly getting compliments. Then they made her wedding band at her request. Theyve fixed a crown on a family hand-me-down watch. replaced a battery and reset a limited edition G Shock I wanted to sell, replaced 2 diamonds in a ring that my (now wife) gave me to wear on a necklace. And finally they custom ordered a gold screw back for my wifes prized diamond earrings gifted by her father. Id drive hours to get something done by them, and wouldnt trust anybody else with our precious jewelry.

From the moment we walked in I felt very uncomfortable. An older gentleman sitting behind the glass scowled at me the whole time I was in there. A nice lady came out and asked us if we needed any help, I told her I wanted to sell a ring, she then took my ring to her boss which happened to be the older guy that was scowling at me, I knew then that I wasnt gonna get anything for my jewelry because he had been staring at me like he didnt want me there. The lady then came back and told me that there isnt anything that they could do for me and that her boss said that I need to sell it on EBay. This is the worse customer experience I have ever had, I will never ever go back to this store and will tell everyone that I know to avoid this place. The manager/boss really made me feel uncomfortable the minute I walked in. When you run a business you should be happy to serve everyone, we are all human beings. This guy does not need to be in management. Horrible place!!

My elderly father asked me if I could take his watch to a jeweler to have the battery replaced. Less and less people even wear watches anymore so I wasn't sure where to take it. Looked on Google maps and saw Wentworth & Sloan Jewelers and decided to give them a try. Located in a mini mall across from Harris Teeter (enter by Alfredo's Pizza due to major site and road construction), I was immediately and kindly greeted by the owner and told him my mission. His place has a real jeweler on staff and before I knew it, the delicate task was already done. Looking around and talking with the owner and others working there, a vibe of honest, friendly, and competent expertise was obvious. Dad was pleased to have his watch back (for under $20) and I was pleased to deal with a hassle-free, high-quality establishment that prides itself on exceptional service. At too many places, attention to minor things (like watch maintenance) is nearly extinct but not at Wentworth & Sloan. I plan to return soon (with my wife).
