image Edit to add April 2024: We just found out they let Deborah go and we are incredibly disappointed and angry. Rest assured we were never friends with Deborah, we just met her when she became the new manager last year. Ignore the bitter previous residents reviews. Deborah was the only one who managed to get this apartment complex in good shape with good tenants. Deborah did what needed to be done in order to have a great living complex with great neighbors and now she is being penalized for it due to negative reviews from the questionable tenants who were RIGHTFULLY evicted. All of the owners who own this apartment complex truly screwed up by letting Deborah go. We now wholeheartedly plan on moving sooner rather than later. I will update this review once we get a feel for the new management. Best wishes for Deborah as she undoubtedly moved on to bigger and better things than working for this complex. She was amazing and we will miss her so much.
My husband and I moved in May 2022. While theres a lot to be said about the previous property manager and the issues that were prevalent in the complex at the time, Deborah took over in October 2022 and completely changed the place for the better. My husband and I have been in constant awe of all of the hard work and changes that have been taking place. Deborah and Kevin now have the apartment complex working like a well oiled machine. Maintenance issues are always handled in a timely manner, communication is always quick, the pool (in the summer) and the laundry rooms are always clean and up and running, and you can genuinely feel Deborahs care and concern for every tenants well being and living experience in the complex. Deborah and Kevin put just as much time and attention inside the units as they do outside the units ensuring the landscaping, garbage area, parking spots/side walks etc. are clean and up to standard. My husband and I have 2 dogs and a 16 month old and we are so grateful for Deborah and Kevin and the changes that are being made.
Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. Any reviews past October 2022 are from tenants who were evicted in the last year because they did not follow the rules, disrespected their living space and/or the outside spaces, and did not care for the other residents in the complex.
With Deborah as the property manager, Heather Ridge is definitely a place you will be grateful to live. Especially with the rental market being what it is right now.

image 10/5/23 Heather Ridge Apts.& Homes claims to have a non-smoking policy inside of the apartment, however, the below tenant, apt. 101 smokes inside her apartment lifting the smoky air to my apartment, 201, affecting my breathing. I have talked to the site manager, and the 101 smoking continues. I do not know who to contact about this problem to find a solution, if you know someone in your staff, please contact me. Because rules need to be followed by all tenants in this complex and, not one is above or below the rule.

image Dont move here. The place is infested with black mold (from leaking Galvanized pipes). You will get sick and lethargic. After I moved out all my allergies I developed while living here disappeared and my breathing got better (never had allergies or breathing issues before living here. Me and my boyfriend felt much better just a few weeks after moving. We are young with no preexisting conditions). They have old Galvenized pipes which are rusting. They refuse to fix the piping so the water is brown. Galvenized pipes only have a 30 year lifespan and are coated with lead. High iron levels in water along with lead will cause health issues. Code enforcement doesnt enforce water or mold so your only option will be to sue for uninhabitable residence. Galvenized pipes are known to cause toxic lead levels in your blood. A few apartments caught on fire from shotty wiring from the heater and they didnt bother to check the other units. I never used the heat the whole time I lived here because I was scared it would catch fire. Apartments dot com is paid and they filter out bad reviews so please dont believe them. They hung new drywall over old moldy drywall which is against code. The flashing on many units was done incorrectly so thats why water is leaking in. Its a good location but thats about it. Nothing here is fixed correctly. They just paint over the mold. There is no such thing as mold mitigation here. It would grow on my toothbrush and literally everywhere (once I left I literally threw my $100 sonicare out and everything I had in my bathroom. Im a clean freak too. No cleaning would remove that mold. We used a dehumidifier in the bathroom along with the fan so no it wasnt tenant caused. ) No matter what I did and how much I cleaned I could not control the mold as it was behind the walls. My shower leaked buckets of water to the unit below (from a pipe disconnected they said but I guarantee it was rusted out). They never even checked the unit or did clean up on it to prevent further mold damage (another units ceiling fell down in the shower because it was so wet and moldy from a leaking pipe). Im assuming they are waiting for this place to be condemned to rebuild. This is a large corporation so they could afford to make these critical fixes. Nobody cares if the interior is new if you have black mold and rusting pipes. So no the price isnt comparable to other units in the area because of the lack of maintenance. They have a very high turnover rate for a reason. Please save yourself from health issues and go somewhere else. There is no misunderstanding in my post. These are all facts as Ive done extensive research and testing in all matters listed above. Im just trying to help others avoid this situation.
Please dont listen to the person saying everyone was evicted. I was never evicted i left because i was getting sick from the mold. Also beware this address is considered high risk so the credit companies watch this. Experian fraudulently did this to me which dropped my 798 score twenty points (they were sued and i got a $167 check for this). I should also note the person who lived below me died at 35. I found this out after i moved out because my friend went to high school with him. He had lived there awhile probably 6 years or so. I cant believe the toxic mold didnt lead to his death (i doubt his family is wealthy enough to sue unfortunately). his unit was the one mine leaked into and they did nothing about it. Please value your life and take these reviews seriously.
