While we didn't find the perfect eco-friendly firm mattress in our price range, we had a really lovely experience at The Sleep Store and would highly recommend perusing their store. Special thanks to the woman (owner?) who helped us and demystified a couple of different kinds of pillows I'd been interested in. :)

If you're looking to buy a mattress you have found the place!! The Sleep Store and Lillian are so knowledgeable! It is fairly priced, & our mattress delivery was so quick, too. With Lillian's help we made the perfect purchase for us! We couldn't be happier!

UPDATE FEBRUARY 21, 2023:ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY!I stopped in here to ask Lillian the proprietor about getting a memory foam mattress topper. Five years ago, I had bought a bed from The Sleep Store (see original review). I had just earlier gotten a quote elsewhere re: both a 2 inch thick and also a 3 inch thick twin XL (38" x 80") size memory foam topper. Needless to say, I am satisfied with the bed that I bought. Apparently because I had already bought a bed from her, and also because it was a discontinued item, she actually GAVE me a 3 inch memory foam topper! (see photos) This was above and beyond the call of duty! So I cannot guarantee this would be your experience too. Thank you Lillian!HER KNOWLEDGE ASTOUNDS BEYOND BOUNDSAnyway, we sat down and had a fairly long, pleasant conversation about many things, as the store was not busy at the time. It turns out that Lillian is quite well educated about quite a few things that one would not expect most people to be familiar with. In addition to educating me about the necessity of reversing your mattress, 180° twice a year to prolong the life of the mattress (no surprise here), she was familiar with salvaging vacuum cleaners, about "daylight basements" (half underground and half at ground level), about how to keep your home from being flooded, among other things. As somebody who has salvaged dozens of vacuum cleaners from the trash, who has lived in daylight basements most of his life (including presently), and who has experienced repeated flooding in his basement dwellings, her knowledge has floored me! My point is if she knows so much about things that are not related to the business of selling beds and bedding supplies, you can be sure that she knows her business in "The Sleep Store." LIKE DAVID VS GOLIATH, SHE OVERCAME COVIDNot only does she sell quality bedding, she does not try to get rich in doing so. And yet her large store has survived the COVID-19 pandemic, which appears to now be seriously on the wane. (a friend just contracted it recently, so Covid is not "down for the count" yet). Her secret? Not by using shifty shafty tactics of today's crass commercialization of "SELL! SELL! SELL! But my focusing on the needs of those who walk into her store, knowing her products, (and then some), and valuing her customers more than her profits.OXIDATION PILLOWS ASSIST UNCONSCIOUS AIR INTAKE WHEN ON YOUR BACK!Finally, I told her to give me a call when she gets her new supply of "Oxidation" pillows, which though not a substitute for CPAP, she, nevertheless told me they could help keep one's airway open when sleeping on one's back.
