Sleep Inn Lake Wright - Norfolk Airport

My only positive is that the location is very central to a few cities. We reserved 2 weeks here during our moving process. They claim to be dog-friendly. The sign on the front desk says" let us know if you have dogs so that we can put you in a dog friendly area" We paid almost $800 in pet fees for 2 small dogs. We both work full time. Our stay ended after they took $350 from us, put it in the register then told us we had to leave the next morning and they would not honor our 2 extra day reservation due to our dogs barking and them having to change people's rooms due to complaints about this. Makes no sense if you have dog friendly areas. In order to let your dog use the restroom, you have to walk a pretty good ways, almost off the property line. There are signs posted in all grass areas that say no pets. The hallways smelled like marijuana daily, or else unbelievably strong incense smell they used to cover odors. We listened to constant arguments, kids running up and down the hallways and housekeeping that began around 9am until around 4 pm daily. Towels were not cleaned properly. The key stopped working at least every day or two and we had to wait anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 minutes while they checked guests in to get the key activated again. There are signs that say vending machines and ice around most corners, however, there is not one vending machine on any floor and the ice machine either did not work or was filthy inside The elevator regularly got stuck. There was hair in the shower, roach traps behind the side tables, trash behind the table that lined the TV wall, something white that ran down the bed liner,and grease marks all over the headboard from previous peoples stays there. Only one staff member was polite always which was appreciated. We really just needed somewhere dog friendly to rest our heads while we waited on our move in date for our place, and what we got was a cancelled reservation and sleeping in our car that night.

Registration was a very slow process. One clerk. The room was average. Didn't have any USB plug inside it. The entire floor smelled like weed. We called for extra pillows and they never came. We had 1 washcloth and 3 hand towels. We didn't attempt to get breakfast. Checkout took too long also.

Would not recommend. Stayed there a week, house keeping never came to my room despite asking 3 times. Broken AC, broken laundry facilities. The elevator broke down on me twice. Breakfast was also pretty bad. It's cheap, needs work, but the location is good.
