This was my first time ever staying at a Country Inn and Suites. The first thing to point out is how clean the Country Inn and Suites Ashland-Hanover is. The property is very clean and inviting. Also, the hotel is quiet. Second, at check-in Bill greeted me with a warm and welcoming hello. He was pleasant each time I saw him. It was a pleasure chatting with him each afternoon. There was always fresh coffee in the lobby! I stayed here 6 nights. Third, my room was a suite on the third floor. The climate control in the room was awesome. It is controlled by a thermostat and the heat/ac worked flawlessly. The shower had good pressure and the water was hot. Fourth, the bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The sheets were stain free and fresh. The towels and trash were changed daily. Fifth, the desk is open 24 hours which makes it easy to leave very early in the morning. Finally, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

If I could give this place negative stars I absolutely would. Starting off we called for a room and asked if our 2 service DOGS would be a problem. They said it wouldn't be and booked the room. I waited outside with my bags and my husband went inside the woman "manager" said I see 3 dog outside on the cameras. She was assured there was only 2 as talked about over the phone. My husband had to take her outside to PROVE we had only 2 dogs cause she thought my backpack (not even that close to me or the TWO dogs tied to a tree.) was apparently a third dog. She notices though one of the 2 service dogs is bigger and says I don't think so and tells my husband when going back to front desk that we should try the next hotel across the street. (We have the room already booked for my husband and I and the 2 dogs) I then go inside to ask why now they are refusing the room to us. I'm told because they can refuse and that my dogs don't have service dog paperwork. (Which my husband already showed them) then it turned to having the audacity of asking me MULTIPLE times "whats my disability for having a service dog and saying she's aloud to ask me" I told her "she couldn't ask me my disabilty for having my service animal. I then asked again "why now we couldn't have the room and if it was his size." Then she says to me when they checked to see if the 3rd dog was real earlier she says "they were aggressive and barking" (which they didn't bark once and one is in training which we told them and is wearing a bark collar incase he did try). I told her this and she im lying then says that nothing will be resolved and her and the man chiming in should call security. I told her all I wanted to know is why we were being refused an already booked room and said have a great day and left. Waiting for my husband and I and the dogs ride to pick us up the man in the convo as well chiming in with the "manager" then comes to out to the back saying he is sorry and we need leave the area, we told him waiting for ride. (Dogs barked ONE time out of the whole hour or so being there sitting outside, must of known how horrible they really were.) Do not advise this for a place to stay at all.

Horrible experience. I came to get a room because I was in town on a Business trip. The company I work for paid for the room. I arrived and told the front desk I had 2 service dogs outside. Because i am disabled. One is in training and one is retiring. They were hesitant at first but after asking me a million questions about my medical condition. They wanted to know EVERYTHING ABOUT MY DISABILITY, then after looking at my service dogs identification and information they agreed to let me stay. Anyone who has a service dog knows these people can't ask you about your condition, they can only ask about what the dogs trained to do. But I let all that slide because I was tired and just wanted to get some sleep. Then the manager proceeds to tell me why I lied about my dogs. She said she looked at the cameras and saw 3 dogs ( my wife was outside walking them) and I assured her I only had 2. I then suggested she go outside to see for herself and meet them. She goes outside to realize the 3rd dog was only a luggage bag. This is when things go sour. She then told me that one of my service dogs was two big and I'd better try the place across the street. And that "no way was I staying there". So I did the reasonable thing and was going to leave. My wife however wanted to go in and explain to them about the laws they had broken by refusing a service animal. And they proceeded to tell her that I "didn't look disabled" and my dogs were to loud. Mind you my dogs never made a single peep. So after being corrected the manager tells us to leave the property and that she was calling security to "throw us and our dogs out on the sidewalk". Of course, we were already leaving. The amount of unprofessionalism the manager displayed to me, my wife, and my service animals really sums up what kind of values country inn suites has for its patrons. I am completely disgusted with how ignorant and disrespectful they were acting about my poor service animals. Also once my company got wind of my situation they guaranteed me that they would never send any of there employees to this ridiculous establishment ever again. When there's far better hotel options all over Ashland. Avoid this place at all cost, spend your money someplace that would actually appreciate and respect disabled Americans.

We are allowed to ask if the dog is required because of a disability and what work/task they have been trained to perform. A dog that is in training is not qualified as a service animal. The statements that you made about us wanting to know your disability and saying that you were lying are false. Please contact us should you wish you discuss this further.
