Holiday Inn Express & Suites Richmond North Ashland, an IHG Hotel

TRY A DIFFERENT HOTEL... The first room we were given had brown water stains and falling popcorn ceiling next to the bed. The 2nd room wasn't much better. The sheets had holes in them, the bed was sagging and uncomfortable, the shower curtain didn't fit the shower (half the size it needed to be) the hinges on the doors were completely rusted, I could continue but I am sure you get the point... Breakfast was cold and disgusting. Try TRU by Hilton or the Hampton Inn instead.

This hotel was conveniently located between Doswell and Richmond which is where I was traveling to. The check in/out process was extremely quick and easy, and the staff throughout the hotel were warm and welcoming. My room was clean and in a location where I couldn't hear the passing traffic, despite the property being near the highway. The only hiccup during my stay was that housekeeping had come to my room (knocking and attempting to open the door) when I didn't request their services and had the "do not disturb" tag outside. They were kind and understanding when I denied their services, but I would've preferred to have avoided that interaction altogether. Overall, this hotel was a great stay for the greater Richmond area!

The manager, staff and service were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were not in a good shape. We stayed on the first floor, and they were stains, holes in the wall, cobwebs and mold in the bathroom. Also, the Internet was not working. It is very questionable to call this a Holiday Inn Express. Rooms: Rooms were rundown and not kept in good shape. Needs serious renovations.

Not sure what to really say about this one. The girl at the front desk said the only rooms that were available were a king suite, and a double queen. We took the double queen. We were driving home to maine via Florida and just needed a place to sleep. The room was very lack luster... gross chalking in the bathroom, dirty air vents, sticky bathroom floors and the a/c unit, which was in a small closet in the bedroom area, would start with a noticeable rumble and rattled the door. We tried to sleep with it off but the room was way too warm to sleep. With it on, it came on every 30 mins and made it so sleep was not possible. Plus the room wouldn't even close so if we had little kids with us it would have been worse. When checking out we told the gentleman at the counter and he gave us $30 back. So 140 for a room that was useless!
