August 5, 2023 if you need good nutrition for recovery, this may not work for you. Yesterday we had lasagna that was good, but the prior three meals were cold and tasteless. This morning is truly a joke. See photo. Wondering if there is kitchen staff on Weekends. I have asked for fresh fruit and coffee. It looks ok.

would not recommend this place for a family member and not for a place of employment either. staff (cnas, nurses, upper management) treat residents horrible. they sleep on the job rather then providing proper care for residents.

So many reasons for 1 star.
My husband had been in the hospital 30 days prior to coming to Cornerstone. He had been septic (infection in blood) and had to have surgery for a below the knee amputation while there.
He entered Cornerstone weak and had a swollen wrist that was causing his severe pain. Everyday while in the rehab we asked about getting his wrist looked at because not only was it causing my husband extreme pain, it was hindering his rehabilitation. We were told over and over it was gout. We told Cornerstone Dr that it was not gout. He was treated for gout and it didnt work. See PCP.
He contracted Covid and CDif while there, both requiring him to quarantine and cancel all appointments. So basically he was in quarantine the whole time.
His rehab consisted of having him push through the pain in his wrist and transfer from his bed to a wheelchair using a slide board on average once a day.
He was discharged because he could do this task..and insurance would not pay anymore according to PT. I had to have staff help me transfer him into my car and was told, good luck. This was probably the best thing that could have happened, home health had had him standing in 10 days.
Forward two weeks and husband was back in hospital, surgery opened up his wrist to see what was happening after X-ray showed deterioration of bone. Diagnosis was previous infection in wrist bone that literally turned his bones to mush. Other bones were free floating. Bone has been infected from initial infection.
This facility is extremely understaffed. My husband, when he did go to appointments, would be stuck in a wheelchair for hours waiting to get back in bed when he returned to facility. He waited hours to get off a bed pan. Even when I was there, Ill be right back was the most common phrase used. Never to return.
The facility and the staff that they do have are nice enough and it was probably a good place to go at one time. However, now is not that time.
I highly recommend NOT taking a loved one to this facility. Our experience was not a good one. My husband did not receive good care.
Its been 1.5 months since discharge and we were told that the wheelchairs were on back order and we should be receiving it a week or so after discharge. Still waiting on that wheelchair.
This may be way to much info to post but I feel strongly that others should be aware. This was/is a high rated rehab facility.
