We loved Montgomery Hillside! Far enough away from Conroe that its peaceful, but still close enough to enjoy the lake on the weekends.

You can swim but I have seen Gators in here and there can also be bad bacteria certain times of year.... Make sure that the water is safe before you hop in!

A nice place to just chill and relax!! And enjoy the sam Houston national forest behind you and not to mention nearby lake conroe!!!
