    Worse place to rent and return cars.

    AVIS has VERY high prices. And they are un-accommodating. I had to return my vehicle 2 days early and they would not reimburse my days I didnt use. They said because I prepaid that I was bound to the price (which was higher than if I didnt prepay BTW). When I politely asked to speak to someone who could make an exception they said no. Whats really dumb is after I left I noticed an extra charge on my account 25 mins after I left. When I called in to ask what that was all about they said oh, because you brought it in early the rate changed so we had to charge you the new rate and they wouldnt clear the charge. So clearly the the rate isnt locked in when you prepay. Its just funny that I got charged more money for returning a vehicle 2 days early and no reimbursement for the days I didnt use. And they absolutely wouldnt help out and the charges arent crazy it turned out being like $80 more so what am I going to do right? Lesson learned

    The BEST car they had has 50k miles and was absolutely filthy inside and out, and unsafe. The alignment is so far off that going straight the steering wheel is quite obviously way off

    No one there when I dropped the car off to check me in. They said it would be done later as it had GPS tag. Got the ebill in the morning and they charged me $81.92 for fuel even though I had just topped it off to full. Now I have to go back up there to dispute. Edit Thought the email to review was for Avis in general, not Avis Midland, TX. The drop off was in OKC. The pick up in Midland went fine. The receipt said that I drove 250 miles. Mapping it, I drove at least 292 miles. So I am not sure which Avis marked the mileage incorrectly or if it was the system. But if the mileage cant be marked correctly, that explains why the fuel is also incorrect. The annoying part and the reason for the stars is that I had to drive the 40 minute round trip to go back up to get the charge removed. Mark, Avis OKC, was very helpful with fixing this, but it having to go all the way back up there for something that shouldnt be an issue after driving 12 hours the previous day because my flight was cancelled is frustrating. Thank you, Mark, for helping me rectify the situation.

    Rented a car with Avis, leaked oil and shut down within 200 miles, so I called road side assistance at midnight and didnt get any help until noon that day. I was transferred multiple times, placed on hold to check the ticket only to be answered by a completely different person and to start over, to be placed on hold again and then complete silence or literally hung up on in the middle of speaking. I was offered a vehicle brought to me at one point, to only have that changed later to me waiting 3 hrs for the tow truck and riding with him 3 hrs in the opposite direction to get a replacement vehicle, so I would then have to drive 3 hrs back to where I was originally at the time the car broke down. I missed a day of work, and am still waiting for the full refund I am supposedly getting. Apparently the vehicles here are not serviced and inspected correctly, and communication with them about the issue has been frustrating to say the least.
