We called and asked for a 1st floor, handicap room, four days in advance. When we got there, while waiting in line to check in, a gentleman that had already checked told front desk he forgot to ask for a handicap room. He was told they could give him one. When he got to us he was trying to give us a regular room up stairs. We explained that we had reserved a room on the 1st floor handicap , due to my handicap. He looked frustrated and finally gave us a room that did not seem handicap. The furniture was so close together, it couldn't have been. We were there for a doctor appointment, tired and just settled with it to not make a scene. We know the guy gave our reserved room away, right in front of us. We have used this motel a lot so we are familiar with the handicap rooms.

I don't know anymore. This is my #1 hotel to go to when I go out of town. But this visit just wasn't that great. Low on staff so they completely close down at night. I mean, it's 100% no employees there. What if there is something that happens during that time? Makes no sense. The fridge in the room was broke in the sense that it made the worst noise during the night. I had no choice but to unplug the thing. I would had said something to the front desk, but again, no one there. Hallway's have peeling wall paper up and down the hallway. And, add in the smell of people smoking weed. Overall, I'm hoping this was just a one off situation. As I've stayed here in the past (although been a couple of years) and everything was fine. (Side note the location does not have an elevator. I have always known this, but several people checking in when I was did not.) Positives was that the Inn was clean. Service, when there, were all nice. And the location is fantastic. Just need to repair somethings, hire someone to be there at night, and replace things that are falling apart.

The only reason I left a 1 star is. I had a reservation and they canceled it because of the price I reserved the room at.
