This company has some explaining to do.. my girlfriend and I financed a truck through this place and have had nothing but problems. From them invading my priviacy, monitoring spending from unlinked and completely separate accounts from a different bank. Then mysteriously being told my loan amount was 5000 dollars more than what I signed for. FDIC SHOULD CLEAN SHOP WITH THESE SCAM CREDIT UNIONS. Yall are criminals.

Beware!!! I did want to share my experience with you all to ensure this does not happen to any of you. On 02/10/23, I applied for the car loan at Plus 4 Credit Union for 50k. I have been a member since 1993 or 1994. Based on my credit score I knew I would be approved. However, the loan office or presentative contacted me and told me the loan would be approved but with stipulations. The loan officer/employee -name removed told me I had to put down 10% . I refused and told him to go back to the underwriter. He came back with a different stipulation of a loan amount of 5k less and a required auto payment had to be setup prior to finalizing the loan. I was shocked but accepted it because I knew I needed documentation. I asked him several times, did this stipulation apply to all customers, was this a standard operating procedure, and was this practice above board. He came back with verbiage like almost, sometimes, lately, the practice had been implemented over the last 3 months. Well, he lied. According to the Consumer Credit Protection Act, this company just discriminated against me. Lenders cant do the following 1. Lenders can't refuse the initial amount of the loan you qualify for, (decreased my loan by 5k) 2. Lenders can't implement a practices to discourage you from applying for or accepting the auto loan (10% down payment) not required 3. Lenders can't offer terms that are different from the terms that may be given to someone else with similar and or like creditworthiness(stipulations of mandatory auto draft payment, decrease in loan amount, and higher interest rate). Needless to say, I asked for the Vice President of Lending or supervisor information. I wrote a letter on 2/18/23. Outlining the entire conversation and I recorded it. I told them I was discriminated against and I was going to report them. By Tuesday morning 02/21/23 at 9:20am, I had a very quick phone call with the employee letting me know he was sending me a revised loan approval in the amount of approved amount without stipulations. The bank was closed Monday 02/20/23 due to Presidents Day. Now I say this to say that we must know our rights. The younger me had no clue about this law and I may have been discriminated against. Also, I am closing my accounts at Plus 4 Credit Union, I did not accept the new loan offer, and I reported them to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau so this does not happen to anyone else. I also asked that they review prior car loans that I paid off. Just think, if i didn't know my rights i would have paid $5000 or been subjected to a lower loan amount with auto draft-all against the law if this practice did not apply to all in my credit score bracket. The VP never called and no one apologized! The just changed the loan offer to what i was approved for. Horrible place so consider this a warning. They wanted to brush this under the rug!
