Dollar Rent A Car

Got my SUV and was in and out in less than 5 mins at counter. The person working lot got me into an upgraded SUV since the one I reserved wasn't available, they didn't want me to wait for one. They treated me well!!

It's cheaper but it's not worth it. When I got here everybody was being redirected to the Hertz desk because there was nobody at the dollar/thrifty desk. Waited forty minutes in that line only for the dollar line to open up and guess what, now I'm waiting another half hour.. this is absolutely ridiculous. Go with national or Alamo, that line moved so quickly. Staff your desk properly, dollar. This is ridiculous.

Dollar sent me a text to update the mailing address associated with my credit card. When I went to do that, it would not accept my address. I think I know my address; I have lived there over nearly 30 years. I tried multiple times, all without success. It took me nearly ten minutes to find a phone number to call Dollar. I called, and after a 15-minute wait, I finally reached a person. I explained the situation and they said I had to update the information online. WHAT? I just told them it didn't work. After several times of explaining this to me, they hung up. Next time I will use National or Enterprise.

I have been trying to reach Dollar Rent A Car's either local or corporate office and have had no such luck. After speaking with my employer who advised me not to accept any additional coverage, I was made to accept rental insurance, damage waiver fees, and premium road service fees through misrepresented information. This is very shady and I'm very upset this has happened as no other rental service has required me to do this. I would like my money back!

Let's start off from the bat: that whole thing about being able to rent using your debit card? True, right up until you go pick it up, THEN you'll need a credit card. And then they'll try to charge that credit card the amount that you paid, plus whatever extras like insurance that weren't mentioned in the initial purchase. If you want to talk to Customer Service over the phone, it's all automated. Plus, the site doesn't allow any changes of the sort on there. They also had like one or two people run the counter and the drop-off/pick-up point... for Dollar, Thrifty, AND Hertz. Also, don't try reserving your vehicle through Uber either, it's the same as above, minus the people.
