    A very incompetant staff! No communication on regulations and procedures to ensure a smooth transition and safe environment for those who have to reside there. It's is a shame what some of the residents are subjected to and should be examined further to eradicate the issues and make sure proper care and treatment is given to those who are in need.

    We thought this would be a great place to help our family out with out Loved one, boy were we mistaken!! During this Pandemic, My Grandma had to be alone for 14 days upon arrival, she became very irritable and lonely, we could only see her at the window but even then it was an act of Congress to get the staff to Answer the phone for assistance, They was short staffed and Rude. Finally we was able to go visit and my Grandmother complained about everything, the DON never returned my calls, the Billing Office Failed to tell us she was going to be a self pay due to her insurance she only lasted there 3 months and she passed away and they didn't notify us until the day she died! They was so worried about their Census they was not staffed enough for the proper care she should have been given!! We are so heartbroken for this and have to live with it we could not be with her when she passed!! Then they had the nerve to bill us not even a week after her death instead of contacting the insurance first!!! DO NOT GO THERE FOR REHAB OR TEMPORARY STAY !!!! They have a stone heart!! It's all about the money!!

    If I could leave negative stars, I would.  One star is overly generous. I have never before encountered such incompetence in a medical staff. My husband had a brutal stay in the rehab side of the facility for an agonizing 27 days In Oct. 2018. The administrative staff lied and/or misinformed us about insurance coverage. There was little communication among staff members, as the nursing staff knew little of what the PT staff required, and vice versa. The medical equipment my husband needed for recovery was in poor condition, if it could be located at all.  Many times it was removed from his room and he had to hunt it down again. The facility was chronically short-staffed and he missed important medical appointments due to their lack of communication and lack of staffing.  Nutrition is an important part of recovery, and the food was abysmal at best and inedible most of the time.  The "doctor" that was supposed to visit him weekly never made an appearance during my husband's stay, yet was allegedly responsible for his care. This "doctor" managed to completely screw up my husband's medications and failed miserably in completing the orders necessary for my husband's PT after my husband was released.Run, don't walk away from choosing this facility.  I can't imagine what abuse the elderly nursing home residents are subjected to, especially those who have no advocate for their care. The administrative staff could never be "found" to discuss these issues with my husband.  It was due only to my persistent calls to the facility that finally motivated the administrative staff  to begin to pay attention to these issues.  However, again promises were made and were not fulfilled.  The facility has been renamed Spindletop Clairmont, I believe, as it has new owners. Whatever the name, DO NOT SUBJECT YOUR LOVED ONE TO CARE IN THIS FACILITY IF YOU VALUE THEIR LIVES.
