Courtyard by Marriott Gatlinburg Downtown

Great place to stay when in Gatlinburg. Your an easy walk to everything in down town. Nearby activities: Close to everything in Downtown Walkability: Easy walk to down town. Walk back is a good uphill. Great exercise, especially after a meal.

So our experience with Courtyard for the day was interesting. 1st) All of Gatlinburg was flooded with 4000+ FFA students from all over Tennessee so getting a room was sheer luck. 2nd) We booked a room for 6 back in Oct of 2023 and between then and now, the 2nd floor was shut down for renovations and carpeting. Upon arrival we were given a room on the 6th floor. We'll that was a bust because that room only sleeps two. To the lobby we go and the manager apologized and reworked the system and gave us a new room on the second floor and credited us the difference between the two rooms. We make it to the 2nd floor and the hallways are blocked off and covered in wet glue for flooring. 20 minutes of back and forth conversations between the contractor and the front desk and we were moved to the 5th floor. The poor manager was swamped with all the issues facing her and she apologized and accommodated us and others accordingly. You can definitely tell the whole scenario was out of her hands and she was dealing with it the best she could. Pros: The service was phenomenal. The room itself was comfortable and clean. The location is within 5 minutes walking distance of many activities and food. Cons: We had to play Chinese firedrill with rooms due to renovations. The noise level late at night with all the teenagers running around and the nightshift front desk not really handling it. Definitely a nice and reasonably priced stop to stay! Just not during spring break week.
