I really can't say enough great things about this veterinary clinic! This is the second vet we've taken our box turtle to, trying to resolve some plastron fungus, and I am kicking myself for not making this the first place we went to. The first place we had gone (avian and exotic vet clinic), and wasted a year of time with, really did nothing of value for our turtle. But back to Scales & Tails: From the second we got here, it was just apparent that we were in good hands. The tech spent 40+ minutes taking down all the relevant information about my animal, and his habitat, and then took my animal into their care for the next 7 hours, doing a very thorough exam, and coming up with a plan that I'm hoping is going to actually make a difference. They made sure that we knew how to do the things they prescribed for our turtle, and scheduled us another appointment for 3 weeks at a discount to check up on the progress. I'm just relieved that this vet is nothing like the last vet. This place is the real deal, and worth the drive out to Beaverton. ** Update ** I just noticed that I hadn't updated this since the first time to this establishment, and I feel it's worth coming back here and saying that this clinic is so so amazing. They cured my turtle of a pretty aggressive fungal infection. Helped us intervene on a shell with some shape issues, and I just cannot say enough good things about this place. The vet really cares about reptiles and other exotics. She has treated our baby like he was one of her own. Every time we come in for check-ups, she goes so far out of her way to tell us what a wonderful turtle he is, and it's just so obvious that she knows and remembers these animals on an individual basis, and it just means so much. Our turtle is not only surviving, but thriving, and this was absolutely not something that was guaranteed to happen, but instead is something that's only happened with the help and expert care of Dr. S. A million words couldn't express our gratitude, and I hope that this is our vet for many years to come.
