Block has been doing our taxes since 2018 and every year until now has been a stellar experience. I'm not quite sure what happened this year. The whole thing has been a disorganized, uncommunicative mess. We dropped off our paperwork on 3/19 to give them plenty of time to prep and then heard nothing back. Calls to the office returned a fast busy signal. It turned out, the person doing our tax prep, at THE peak time of tax season, was only working 1 day a week? So between our dropping off the paperwork on 3/19 and my going into the office personally on 4/1 to find out what was going on, that person had actually only worked 2 days and probably had way more casework than just us. We're still in the process of wrangling it out, were moved to a different office with a new person, but now there are missed appointments and other problems. This whole experience has really shaken my confidence in Block, and like I say, we had a good 5 years with them prior to this, no problems, even weird tax situations like solar panel exemptions and inventor credits, they took it all in stride.
