River Cliff Apartments

5 stars for the first year (except when the maintenance guy entered our unit without warning), then slowly it crept it's way down to two stars, and that's just me being generous. We had parking lot lights that were out countless times, creating safety hazards, and when we called the emergency line to get it handled, the phone was forwarded to who-knows-where. We were grateful that we weren't attempting to call during something more serious like a water main break. The physical condition of our apartment was embarrassing, the baseboards were held in with hopes and dreams (what is a nail?), the bathroom wasn't painted, the countertops were peeling, and the front door stuck the entire time we lived there. When it snowed February 2021, maintenance couldn't be bothered to come salt or shovel, creating hazards for tenants, forcing tenants to shovel ten layers of ice and snow themselves. Lastly, I completely understand that it takes a lot of effort and there are legal hoops to jump through to get tenants removed for causing disturbances and breaking countless lease rules, but I don't think there was a lot of vetting of tenants, and if you mix that with absent management, it makes for a very unpleasant home life at these apartments. When management is only on property for 1-3 hours per day at most, instead of the 4 hour daily schedule that was already paltry and disappointing, they don't tend to see anything wrong, they come in, check emails, give a tour, and leave. This entire area is also very loud because it is at the top of River Road, not the fault of the apartment complex obviously, but it is something to keep in mind if you stay in any of the apartment complexes in this area, as there are four to choose from.

Nice quiet complex, not too big, respectful neighbors. Good view in a great location. Little spendy for the amenities but the pet rent is reasonable. Good management and maintenance response.
