Upon a change in flight, I reached out to Avis to notify them that I would no longer arrive at 1:10pm but would now arrive at 10:30pm and asked if the Avis counter would be open upon arrival. I was assured that the counter would, indeed, be open. However, upon arrival, the counter was closed and I was stranded at the airport overnight waiting for the counter to open the next morning. I tried to get a hotel near by but everything was sold out. At 56, I should not be sleeping on the airport floor. Staff should be able to correctly inform customers if their location at a specific airport will be open so arrangements could be made if not.

Avis doesn't stick to the initial quote so you need to check at various times and look at the end receipt to know what you actually paid. Ridicules! Poor billing system. I was first quoted $173 on the phone was told that included all taxes etc then when it was returned they billed me at $219. Beware!

I would not recommend them when I booked online months in advance. I booked for a bigger car when we got to the airport they gave us the smallest car when I said something to them they said I would pay to pay for the bigger car so they charged us for an upgrade. Unfortunately, we are a family of five with luggage and babies.
Very unprofessional and rude
