Tru by Hilton Sandusky

Enjoyed my one night stay at this property. After visiting several other hotels in the area, this has become one of my absolute favorites. The rooms are modern, the staff was friendly and professional. The hotel all around seemed clean and taken care of.

LISTEN UP! My daughter plays club volleyball, we stay in A LOT of hotels. We are Hilton honors members and always choose Hilton! This hotel was SUPER clean. Other girls on her team stayed in different hotels and issues with cleanliness and other things. No doubt in my mind if we needed to stay in the area again, this is the hotel we would choose. The breakfast was great, plenty of options, it was warm and delicious! And lastly, the staff were amazing. Super attentive, respectful and kind! Luke, Becky and Ethan just to name a few. There was another young guy who maybe was the manager. He was constantly working! Stocking breakfast, cleaning up the lobby and even made a comment about needing to help the cleaners when breakfast was over as they were preparing for a high number of occupants due to the eclipse. Would stay here again, no doubt!

From the moment we arrived at Tru by Hilton in Sandusky, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel itself boasts a contemporary design with vibrant, inviting spaces, and it's evident that cleanliness and guest comfort are top priorities. Our room was impeccably clean, well-appointed, and felt very welcoming after a long day of travel. What set this visit apart, however, was the outstanding customer service we received, particularly from Ethan at the front desk. His professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail were evident from the get-go. Ethan went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, even taking the initiative to text us to see how everything was going. This personalized touch made us feel valued and taken care of. The amenities offered were fantastic, and the location was perfect for exploring Sandusky and its surroundings. It's clear that Tru by Hilton in Sandusky isn't just about providing a place to stay; it's about creating a positive, memorable experience for its guests. Thanks to Ethan and the rest of the team, our visit was precisely that.We can't recommend Tru by Hilton in Sandusky highly enough. Whether you're here for business or leisure, you're in for a treat.

The rooms are pretty basic and it doesn't have a kitchenette like a Home2 does, and the chain for the blinds broke but it was our last day anyway so it's not a big deal. I didn't notice but my mom did, apparently the corner of our shower was broken. Said shower also leaked a LOT and the bathroom door was near impossible to close all the way. The room door was heavy, so we kept accidentally slamming. We also had several problems with our room keys, including my mom's in-app key. Breakfast was mid, the bacon was never hot even if you came at 6 or 7 when breakfast had just opened, and they have cereal but I could never find any milk for it. I want to give a shoutout to Shane, he worked the front desk and helped me find something I needed. He said he didn't have any of what I was looking for and I said it was ok, but then 5 minutes later he came to where I was sitting at breakfast with the item and I appreciate his dedication to making sure I got said item. The rest of the staff were friendly as well, we had stayed at a different Tru in Georgia and the staff were a bit rude so this was nice. Overall it was enjoyable but I like Home2 Suites far more.
