Our lease is expiring this December and (Sierra Ridge Bismarck) forced me to retain the apartment. They said I can't move to another apartment unless my husband gives them the permission to let me go. This is my first time of hearing such a thing. They treated me like a child and it's so unfair. Renting an apartment with this new management is a high risk because they'll find an excuse to force one to retain their property. A guy who is the new manager said he didn't tell me to sign lease with my spouse. Treated me like I'm not a human.

June 2018: (5 star) We love our new apartment! Sheldon did everything to make the process easy, and he was very welcoming and helpful. When my sister and I went to the DMV to renew our licenses, we didn't have the appropriate document for proof of address. My sister called Sheldon, and he emailed our lease in a matter of minutes. Everyone in the office is friendly. The maintenance man is great too, and he responds quickly. :) March 2019 - (5 star) I wanted to leave another review but I can only edit my original one from several months ago. I got my car stuck in the parking lot. I called Sheldon (lease/office worker), and he immediately called the maintenance man (Stuart), who got to me in - no lie - 2 minutes tops. Stuart poured salt by my front tires and helped push/direct me out. I love this apartment because I feel like they truly care. Thank you Sierra Ridge, for making my day!! :) August 2020 (3.5 stars) - Got some new neighbors that moved in here in October...the quality of living has definitely gone down. It's cheaper rent, so I figured I'd save up some money and didn't have super high expectations. However, I guess I didn't expect to have to call the cops twice to intervene for fights or drunk driving, as well as calling a couple times (after reporting to the office and them saying they can't do much) for noise complaints. If you're looking for an apartment, I definitely do not suggest living in Garden Grove building 2030, apartments #207 or #309. The renter in #207 moved out, and I (#309) am moving out at the end of the month as well. (The office did offer to move me to another unit, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of moving and chance having someone else move by me again that management couldn't/wouldn't be able to do much about. They have fortunately waived the $75 fee for month-to-month when I didn't renew my lease while waiting for my next place to be move-in ready.) I don't know what they do to shake my apartment ABOVE them, but my floor shakes sometimes. That's easier to ignore though. I've had several nights of disrupted sleep due to partying or arguing/fighting on the balcony right below me at all sorts of times between 1 am and 5:30 am. There's been puke on the ground below their balcony (close to the entry way) twice. There's frequent yelling with expletives at her children during the day, which I don't say anything about since it's not during quiet hours. When I do request in the middle of the night though, the lady is actually very apologetic and quiets down immediately. So...if you do live by them, I suggest handling it calmly and nicely because you don't want to get on her bad side. I've heard her fight. After having disrupted sleep for 3 nights in a row, followed by 2 quiet nights, I decided to go with positive reinforcement and give her a thank you card and chalk for her kids for allowing me to sleep in my own apartment. She was very appreciative of the gift and has been quiet the last 2 weeks - she and her friends are just very unaware of how loud they are when they drink. (To give you an idea of their volume, one time I had to pour a little bit of water on them to get their attention because they could not hear my dog's loudest squeaky toy or me YELLING directly above them).
