Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lexington NW-the Vineyard, an IHG Hotel

GREAT llittle place to stay. Overlooks Childress Vineyards. NICE place. Will meet state rate if you a government employee, making it the BEST deal in the world. Rooms: Rooms have all been renovated since my last review. Whole motel had been renovated. The bathrooms have showers only according to the check in guy. The rooms themselves are cold and impersonal. Not impressed with the redo. The windows have electric shades that don't work. I asked a maid and she said none of them work correctly. You just kinda roll it up over itself till you get what you want. A little panel hiding electrical cords under the nightstand fell out onto my wife's foot. It was not secured. AC unit is very loud. It does wake you up at night. Pillows are large and fluffy looking but are very mushy and cumbersome. Kinda unwieldy. This used to be a great little place to stay. Not so much anymore in my opinion. Might be okay if traveling for business. Also, try to get a room facing the vineyard. Mich better view than front overlooking parking and highway.

It's a typical Holiday Inn Express on first look. Very clean, very well appointed, very quiet. What sets it apart is the staff. From Nicole at the front desk in the evening to the breakfast ladies and the housekeeping staff, and the gentleman in the morning also at the front desk, all were extremely friendly and welcoming, and they were also personable. They were very accommodating and asked on several occasions if we needed anything. (We were here almost a month for work). There is a beautiful patio on one end of the building, and a nice indoor pool on the other end. They have a great workout facility, but sadly, no laundry room. If you want quiet, classy rooms and beautiful surrounding areas, this is the place for you. There are some restaurants close - we especially liked the Lexington BBQ. Great meat and the hush puppies are to die for. We didn't get to the winery behind the hotel, but we hear it's awesome. The number of people going to it told us how good it was. If you want a great stay with options for visiting a winery, you need to stay here And a big shout out to Nicole - she went above and beyond to remedy an issue. I AM NOT A ROBOT AND I HAVE NOT BEEN PAID TO POST THIS REVIEW. We really feel these people know how to show hospitality. Walkability: Not walkable - more than a mile to the closest store.

Stayed here in Lexington, NC, for 2 nights to attend a wedding at Morrison Grove. The accommodations were spacious, clean, and well maintained, backing up to a vineyard next door. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Wish I had more time to visit the Vineyard for lunch and a wine tasting. Perhaps the next time.

If you're visiting Childress Winery, this is a perfect place to stay for a quick getaway. The service was fantastic, the rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Update Mar 2024: We visited coincidentally for the 2nd week in a row. The first week, several kitchen items weren't working (pancakes, juice) but I didn't mention it on the review. This past week, even more items weren't working (pancakes, juice, and cinnamon rolls). My wife mentioned it to the kitchen staff and they just said they were out of stock. Anyway, it's still a nice hotel but as a frequent traveler, you just can't miss on things like this. Just a few cosmetic items in the room but nothing to keep me from enjoying it. The hotel is in a good location and there are a few shops that are close. I'm not familiar with the area to know how close it is to attractions, but it was easy to find and the staff was very friendly. Rooms: Clean and well furnished. Completely what you would expect from a normal Holiday Inn.
