Hampton Inn & Suites Syracuse Dewitt

We stayed at the hotel the night before the eclipse. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We were given an eclipse bag, that was completely unexpected. Most importantly the hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We highly recommend staying at this hotel. Thanks for a great experience!!

Wonderfully easy to book rooms, check in online, and use your smartphone as a key! This facility is fairly new and well kept. Rooms are large and very clean. We didn't partake of the complimentary breakfast this visit, but have in the past and found it very nice. Very convenient location for those in town with students at either Syracuse University or LeMoyne College. Very close to all kinds of restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores.

This hotel is decently located if you need to work in the Syracuse area but prefer to stay away from downtown. However, its level of service is abysmal. Despite the lingering smell of sewer near the elevators and the hair all over the bathroom (having worked housekeeping when I was younger, I know how hard it is to get hair off of every surface), I was willing to give this location the benefit of the doubt until I needed to check out. I had to leave a day early and was refused an accurate receipt because I had not given Tammy the "First 48" advanced warning of my early check out. Mind you - I didn't care about having to pay for the extra day, I'm sure they warned me about this early check-out policy somewhere in their fine print. I just needed an accurate receipt for company recordkeeping. She said it wasn't possible, a receipt at that time could only show for the days I'd been there and not for the full charge. I have no idea why they couldn't charge me the full amount right then and print a receipt for it. She said it didn't matter anyway, I'd receive an emailed receipt after my original check-out day. She gave me an incorrect receipt and that was the end of it. I waited a week for the correct receipt to be emailed so I could print it, but it never arrived. When I called, I was lucky enough to get another opportunity to deal with Tammy and she was very difficult but took down my email and said she'd send the correct receipt. I waited another day and still none had arrived. I called back once more today and Tammy said she'd sent it through twice so I'd better check my spam folder. Of course, no email had arrived. I asked her to verify my email address and she had my first name wrong, as if it wasn't readily available in the reservation. I asked if she would please send it to the correct email address and she said she would and hung up on me. This time it came through, but at this point I felt the service required a review so that others know what to expect if they choose to stay here.
