It's difficult to write this because now Yelpers will know that I was in psychotherapy. That said, it's important for me. Dr. Willis changed my life for the better. After going to see Lisa as part of couples therapy I went back as an individual. Lisa used a psychoanalytic approach to help me not only "deal" with my anxiety, she helped me process events form my childhood that allowed me to heal deep down. Because of my experience with Dr. Willis I have built stronger relationships and I'm living a much calmer, more satisfied life.I have moved to California and now Washington DC since living in Rochester. I have tried numerous therapists. I haven't found any that take the time to get to know me on such a deep level. I haven't found anyone who treats me as a unique individual with my own life experience that shapes who I am and therefore my therapeutic needs. Dr. Willis was the head of University of Rochester counseling center for a reason, she is experienced. You cannot substitute for a good head and an even better heart. I never had a problem reaching Dr. Willis. Highly recommend.

I'd have to say I had the almost same experience as the other poster here, I called her, left a message and haven't heard back from Lisa. I couldn't even see how she is as a therapist, if she doesn't return phone calls. So sad. Agreed that it's totally unprofessional. I've had this experience with calling other therapists where they just won't call u back. Is there something in the water around here?

I would give an actual rating if she would actually respond to my calls or emails... I've been trying to contact her for months and I have never gotten a response. This seems incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful for someone who is in serious need of her services. Thanks for nothing, Lisa.
