    My first time here. I made an appointment the day before. Smooth and simple NYS inspection. Really friendly staff. I was in and out in under an hour. Ill definitely be coming back. Thanks! Since this review Ive returned twice for oil changes and another inspection, this is my go to car place for routine maintenance. Thankfully Ive havent needed more than that. James and Derik are great.

    Staff, techs, and managers need to get on the same page before they make empty promises to customers regarding payment. I went to get a new battery, which was the diagnosis shared with me after brining my car in for a check engine light. Pricy, but since I trusted their work I made the decision to go ahead. Upon leaving, the light was still on. Concerning, but things happen. The tech cleared the code and I was on my way. Not even 350ft down Central Avenue, the car completely dies. If you know Central Avenue in Albany you know that it is the last place where you want your car to quit working. My fianc pushed me to the side of road and I managed to get back to the shop. The tech, a very nice man named James, was apologetic and told me that it was an error on their end, and even showed me two cables that his other tech assessed was the larger issue. I told James I was not going to pay anything more as the situation was completely unacceptable, regardless if it was a mistake or a separate issue as I spent over an hour dealing with their errors and nearly getting read ended. James assured me I would not pay anything more as it was a misstep on their end, and that because I was a frequent customer, he would let Derrick (manager) know and things would be squared away. Feeling frustrated but a bit better, I leave the car for another day to be looked at. Today, the Derrick calls me and tells me a completely different story. Derrick offered no apology to me, all business. He even went as far as saying that this happened on his one day off a week, as if I should feel badly for him while I am dealing with a scary and frustrating situation. I will never trust Midas again and am disgusted by the way I was treated after trusting them with my car for many years. While a slight discount on deducting labor was appreciated (still paid about $700 total), I was deceived initially and did not feel taken seriously. There was no human component to the way I was treated and I can imagine if something like this happened to you or your family, youd want a company to do right by you. Save yourself the hassle, headache and frustration and go somewhere else.
