For me, Montana Alpine Guides is Lindsay Fixmer and I think she's great. I needed instruction on ice climbing. Lindsay provided a good summary then focused on components. She was very straightforward -- "you need to do "x," like "stem your feet more." Focusing on components enabled me to put together the complementary set required to improving my climbing. She isn't effusive, but a "that was looking better" or "did that feel better?" with a quiet smile was what I needed.

Despite challenging conditions Ty found some great terrain to ski. A stellar day out.

We had such an incredible time with Noah and Adam. They were patient, kind, and taught us a lot. Plus, ice climbing is so fun and we always felt like we were in good hands. Highly recommend

These guys do a great job with AVY 1 courses. It is an experience worth every penny. They are extremely welcoming, highly knowledgeable, skillful at communication, and overall absolutely fun to be around. I couldn't have asked for a better experience to practice and learn necessary skills for safe travel in avalanche terrain. Well worth it and highly recommend it. Shout-out to Ryan and Megan, two really awesome guides. I had little experience in backcountry touring and they made me feel so welcomed and provided me with much needed experience and knowledge. If you're considering MAG as your guiding service for an AVY 1 or probably any other course they offer, do it, you won't regret it.
