The View at Forest Park Apartments

Broken elevator not fixed for almost 4 months now. If you ask the management they simply say theres no timeline when it will be fixed. There are 23 floors and currently just two elevators are working. At peak times I have waited 5-7 minutes to get into one. Our lease was renewed at 12% increase in rentals, and this is the service and attitude we get. Update: Reached out to property manager as per response, havent received any reply.

This past year has been a complete nightmare. Many times we do not have a door person, the laundry room has many machines that do not work and it takes weeks for them to be fixed, and the broken elevator situation is horrible. This place is a disaster! People need to contact the owners and Mills and fix major problems rather than spending money on redoing apartments. I have lived here for 19 years and never have I experienced such a complete mess!

I ended my lease early to get out of this place (and paid a big penalty to do so). Heres why. First there is the matter of the broken elevator (one of three in a 22-floor building). It broke and wasnt fixed for MONTHS despite lots of elderly and residents with disabilities. My partner (who uses a wheelchair) and I waited up to thirty minutes for an elevator at times and on several occasions got to haul our laundry or suitcases down the stairs from the 9th floor. The elevator back-ups also made me late for obligations more than once. It was never fixed while I was in the building. Second, you have the renovations. Renovations began as early as 7:30 am and sometimes lasted as late as 8:30 pm, including on weekends! Aside from the impact of incessant banging, grinding, and hammering on your general well being, it also makes it nearly impossible to work from home in the building. And after the renovations are done, sounds echo through the newly-laid wood floors because of poor soundproofing and no one really wants to hear everything their neighbor does. Third, the managements email response time is extremely delayed or in some cases nonexistent. When I emailed them during my grad school finals about a noise issue that was preventing me from sleeping, they got back to me after a week. By then, Id had to go down to the office more than once because Id been sleeping in my living room. The noise issue did not abate, and they acted shocked when we told them we needed to move out because of it, despite contacting them several times over the course of several weeks about the issue. The redeeming fact about this place is that the maintenance team is fantastic and professional, and the doormen are kind and helpful. But their professionalism only goes so far when your day to day is as described above.

Great apartment but the management has refused to repair an elevator making it impossible to get in and out in a timely manor. Really unfortunate because I really love the space.

I wanted to share the answer from the manager: She said she sent out an email and is waiting for the smoker to come forward. I was sick with a hoarse voice due to the secondhand smoke, but she told me there was nothing she could do except waiting. Wow. --- Someone has constantly been smoking since June (literally every single day), and the apartment doesn't do anything.
