The room was clean and quiet and exactly as pictured. The neighborhood seemed to be reasonably safe with an easy walk to the art museum, restaurants, etc.

My experience at this hotel was very lovely! I personally wouldnt describe it as a hotel as it truly is a renovated mansion as described with the feel of a hotel atmosphere. I stayed here for a total of 4 nights and I was undisturbed the entire time which I am grateful for that further contributed in a relaxing experience. There is a bit of construction going on that made it a little difficult to find the place and navigate around town but it wasnt too bad to where my experience was ruined. All in all I was pleased with my stay and would love to book again in the future knowing what I know now! Rooms: The room itself is as pictured on the booking site for whichever room you choose. I was astonished when I opened the door and it looked almost identical to the website! Very clean with an informative booklet on how to work things as well as suggestions for curating your experience! I do want to say my room was on the colder side even though they offered a fire place but I was too uncomfortable to use it for own safety so I ended up using the space heater instead. The doors also automatically lock when youre inside the room with a latch on the door for extra security. The walls are a bit thin so be aware that you will be able to hear *many* things. Nearby activities: This hotel is TRULY within walking distance of the Nelson Atkins Art Gallery museum! I walked there within 5-10 minutes. As well as being located within walking distance to the plaza for shopping, parks, eating, etc. Safety: The neighborhood feels moderately safe as most (if not all) of the living areas are gated communities! As a young black woman I felt safe enough to walk alone on my own after hours. Walkability: Distance wise there are plenty of options to choose from but the sidewalks are a bit worn down and lifted with some inclines and hills so be sure to be safe and wear shoes that are ACTUALLY comfortable on your feet and made for walking. Food & drinks: This isnt a hotel where a kitchen staff is on site 24/7 so any type of food and drinks are your sole responsibility for the entirety of your stay, which for some can be inconvenient but I will say that there are plenty restaurants within walking distance but be sure to plan ahead of time!
