Sonesta Select Kansas City South Overland Park

When checking in the front desk agents were friendly, welcoming, and competent. The lobby looked nice and was well maintained. Unfortunately, this is where our positive experience went sideways. Our room was not completely filthy but was not in a state that should have been in use. All of the cloth furniture was stained. One chair had a child's hand print in white as well as a stain of an unknown liquid where one would sit. The shower did not drain. The room smelled like a prior quest had multiple dogs. The carpet did appear to have been recently vacuumed but was stained throughout the room. We had gone to this property when it had previous ownership, and have to report it has gone downhill.

Rooms: Room was par but we were near elevator and heard the elevator bell EVERY time it arrived on our floor.

BED BUGS!! This location has bed bugs and the rooms are not cleaned properly. I traveled from CO to stay in this KC location as a first timer. I am not impressed. I spoke out immediately upon discovering the bugs after calling the from desk several times. It wasnt until I made my way to the front desk and personally requested someone to pick up the call as I knew it was my room number that was calling to discuss what was discovered. I had two rooms, and email has confirmed there are bed bugs at the facility but only a partial refund was issued. I reached out privately to get the issues resolved prior to making a review. My husband and I stay at this location every time we come to Missouri. It always nice people at the front desk. The rooms are very fancy but always clean and never any smell or bugs.
