Mercy Emergency Department - Mercy Hospital St. Louis

Been told our room is being cleaned for 4 hours so far. I understand places being understaffed but damn.

I brought my girlfriend to the er last night got here around 1 in the morning finally got back to a bed in the hall way near the nurses station at around 645 in the morning just to hear a few nurses cussing and laughing and cracking up telling jokes while my girlfriend was literally crying her eyes out in pain. This hospital is becoming a 1st class joke

Have been waiting for over 6 hours now. It's 2am. After 4 hours I had the nerve to ask what I could expect to happen next and if I might know how close I am to being seen. The nurse at the desk just stared me down and looked up my name, told me the longest person waiting was here 5 hours and 47 minutes. I understand how triage works, I guess after sitting in pain at the hospital for 4 hour with no treatment, I was looking for a little reassurance, a kind word maybe? It's not like I got here and after 30 minutes demanded answers, and now it's much slower than when I arrived and I have no idea how much longer I will be waiting. When is it ok to get impatient? 7 hours? 8 or 9???

Last night I was there for my daughter being treated after a car accident and the staff were very professional and caring the experience on that was 5 star. But the emergency wait area and the especially the bathrooms were down right filthy. I had to use the restroom and I was horrified at the condition of the facilities. Do they not have custodians?!
