    Update: I recently travelled through the area and made certain to time my stop so that I would not be in Batesville again. I also want to compare the response here to a recent experience. I was at another Marriott property (Delta Hotel) and simply asked the front desk when the tvs would be fixed as the reception was spotty. They apologized and said that they had been working on getting a technician back again. I thanked them for the update and next time I was in my account saw that they deposited 5,000 points for the inconvenience. They seem to take the tv issue more seriously than the Fairfield in Batesville did the safety issue of somebody already in room. Issue: I would never stay here again. I checked in at 1:am and when I opened the door to my room (correct room and key card worked) there were boots and clothing on the floor and clearly somebody was sleeping in the bed. I was given a different room, however, staff was pretty nonchalant about it all and cant say I slept that well. Next morning staff was talking to the person who had been sleeping in the room (recognized the boots) - not sure if it was an employee or friend of the hotel staff but they seemed to know him and not a safe situation for a guest. I sent a complaint via Marriott and the response from the hotel was basically that they changed policies - didnt even throw a refund or even points my way. So be warned - keep all the door locks set at this (or for that matter any) hotel

    The night clerk (David) and gm (April Rickels) were very rude, unprofessional and racist. My mother questioned the incident charge because she was unaware of it. David started yelling and even resulted to say bye Felicia saying he wasnt talking to me when I asked why he was being so aggressive and if he was ok. April then began to speak rudely also because I questioned the rudeness. I have never experienced anything like this, mind you were here burying a deceased family member who died unexpectedly. Aprileven went so far to telling me that there was no one I could voice my concerns too because she is the gm and the owner would side with her.I returned 2 hrs later to ask for extra towels. David walked in and said Im not dealing with you and refused to give me towels They were unprofessional. The room appeared unkempt, and unclean .The bathtub was disgusting. Hair everywhere. I would never go back not even if it was free. And theres no need for the owner to respond. I can tell by his response and the fact that this keeps happening they allow it and will continue to operate this way. I have videos and this will most definitely be escalated

Thank you for letting us know yet again about this issue. This happened over 2 months ago and has already been addressed. The guest was neither an employee nor a friend of staff, just a regular who stays with us every time that they are in town. That morning when you recognized the boots, you spoke to the guest and you were not upset with the situation at all. You actually joked with not only the guest but myself about it. This was addressed with everyone of my front desk clerks and used as a training moment about proper check in procedure.
