This place needs to be shut down. The residents deserve better care. Respect and honesty, the staff here does not care about the residents. If I could give this place 0 I would. Do not send your loved ones here!!! They will not love them.

I do not recommend this facility to anyone! My grandmother went to the hospital and when they check her blood sugar, it was at 24!!! She is diabetic and they have either not given her the right insulin, or they have just didnt giver insulin. There were a few good care takers there. They however have left. Or they got fired for trying to report things they have found or feel need to be reported!

i was recently fired from a assisted living facility (AFC) in Traverse City.  South Ridge. I worked there for 3 years. I absolutely loved and adored every single one of the residents! They were family, not just individuals i went to go take care of for a pay check. I ended up leaving for less then a month, then coming back full time because i was concerned of the care they were receiving with the new administrator in charge, before i decided to come back a employee contacted me about concerns she had, and with things that were not appropriately getting done... before i was contacted i've already heard and was aware of the neglect. So i went in after working a 8 hour shift all night at a different facility to check on my residents, because i knew i wouldn't be able to go home and sleep without knowing they were getting the most professional and proper care! When i went in to check on them, i was shocked with the care they were getting. Medication was NOT being administered correctly, some have went nights without medication, or even insulin. The administrator didn't not even know how to put a needle on the insulin pen! She has been giving them shots without the needle! I found medication in rooms from residents not taking there medication, They don't even have call lights that currently work! I am in disbelief when it comes to this place and seeing the neglect going on, i contacted the owner twice about everything, and his response was give it time...! I have been contacted to come in and administer meds because nobody knew how to do it, and if they couldn't find anyone they would just go without! The day i was fired, i was fired for documenting NARCS were off, and trying to document and report the medications i found. I was told that's not how we do things around here and to just lock them up. The administrator didn't want any of this documented because it happened on her shift! I have texts and pics to back all this up. Theses residents can't be heard, and this is not even close to everything going on in this facility!!! When i called the owner after being fired, he only had a few things to say and hung up! This is not okay, and theses residents are miserable! i'll help be their voice since they don't have there own, and do everything in my power to make sure this neglect ends!! if you all can share this please, just imagine if one of your loved ones was getting this care. This can't go on.!side note!  i have reported this facility along with others...but it's being advertised for employees, and to take on more residents.

I just wanted to say this is the worst place you could possibly go!! Ive seen with my own eyes the coworkers and Boss allowing a resident to talk down, try to hit and call an employee names and nothing was done! An Employee threatens to hit another employee all because a resident was going outside when they where not supposed too. Its so unprofessional! No certification required almost all the workers there are off drugs. And no Im not making this up! Pills go missing all the time. Some coworkers are allowed to show up to work late and leave early thru out there shifts but if my friend shows up late for one day because her daughter is sick she gets in trouble and yelled at for. This job is drama full, and very much unprofessional. I am very disappointed with my experience there!
