Im a fan of the Delta variant of the Marriott network. Theyre consistent 3-4 star properties with decent amenities. The Grand Rapids location serves that niche. The rooms are updated though in need of basic repairs. The office chair was missing most of the vinyl. The drapes had holes. A coat peg was falling off the walls. The restaurant was fine and the food was pretty good. Service was rough as the place was short staffed in the evening as well as for breakfast.

So, there is a bit of fair warning first. The big 3-story slide that you see in all the pictures is closed. Permanently. We called the Marriott "reservation center," as that's what you're automatically patched to when you call, and they said everything is open. It isn't. Not the slide and not the hot tub. We literally enrolled our kids in swimming and booked rooms here just for this goliath of a slide for a nice mid winter break. When we got there, however, we were left saddened.
