I came to Boston by myself for a conference. Having never been to Boston I thought the location was great, the hotel had a cool vibe, and the area felt safe. The rooms were clean, efficient and the staff is very friendly. Moreover the check in process was seamless. Mario and Alyssa made feel welcome and gave me some great local recommendations. Rooms: Rooms are a bit on the small size, but it is all there. I would describe the rooms as neat, minimalistic, efficiently designed. I like them. Safety: The area was very active. I walked around by myself and never felt unsafe Walkability: Everything I needed was within walking distance or short distance using public transportation or cabs.

SHOUT OUT TO JOHN!!! I checked out of Moxy Boston Downtown today and to my dismay the elevators where not working. To be fair, the hotel had distributed notices the day before that elevator testing was going to occur from 7am - 8am. I called the front desk and John profusely apologized and offered to come up and help me carry my bags. I thought he was joking and fully expected to get ghosted, but this man came up and carried my bags down 11 fight of stairs!!! I offered to help carry one of the bags and he won't hear of it. This goes beyond customer service this is KINDNESS!! Next to the definition of "above and beyond" in the dictionary should be a picture of John! My entire stay was great! My stay was for business travel. The hotel is different, not like any hotel I've ever stayed in before and I must confess, I LOVED the vibe. It's a contemporary, industrial, minimalist style hotel. Very CLEAN! I took a star off the rooms because my bathroom sink was in the same space as the bed and I didn't quite like that, but the bathroom itself was lovely, clean and modern! Overall my experience with the staff in general was also lovely. Though of course John stood out!

My 4-night business trip at Moxy Boston Downtown was exceptional, blending vibrant design with practicality and excellent location. Check-in was swift, allowing for a smooth transition into the city life. The room, though compact, was well-equipped for business needs, with a comfortable workspace and restful sleep guaranteed thanks to quality bedding. Situated in downtown Boston, a stone's throw from Chinatown, the hotel offers a plethora of dining options, making it easy to enjoy diverse Asian cuisine without venturing far. While the hotel lacks traditional business facilities, its fast Wi-Fi and dynamic communal spaces offer ample opportunity for work and relaxation. In summary, Moxy Boston Downtown is a fantastic choice for business travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and a taste of Boston's vibrant culinary scene. Its modern approach to guest experience and strategic location near Chinatown add significant value, making it highly recommendable for those visiting the city.

Check your reservation receipt carefully! At the very bottom of my receipt, it stated that an additional $35 per night/per room charge would be an additional fee. That fee was charged after I checked out. So that $35 dollar food voucher that you get at check-in? Make sure you spend it, because you're being charged for it after you leave. If you click on enough buttons on the website, you will find this information, and more savvy travelers than myself might pay better attention to those details, but I was taken by surprise. Also, you will pay an additional $40 per day for parking at a garage that is two blocks away if you have a car. The rooms are small, really small. There is no desk or proper chair. There is no refrigerator or closet. The hotel is cultivating a very artsy, eclectic vibe, which goes with the theater district it's located in. On the bright side, the location is central and the universities I was visiting with my child were close by. Boston Common, Faneuil Hall, and Quincy Market are within walking distance. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. I knew staying in Boston would be expensive, and I was trying to balance location with cost, but I think a more traditional hotel might have been a better fit. Including the fees and taxes, I paid $260.20 per night for the room. If you also include the $40 for parking, that brings it to just over $300 per day. Rooms: Small. Safety: I felt safe. Walkability: There is a great deal within walking distance. Noteworthy details: The hotel is near a medical center. I heard sirens frequently.
