Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Downtown/South End

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms are nicely decorated and modern. The staff were all extremely friendly. We stayed one night and left for the CruisePort the next morning.

If you go here, make sure Brook is here. She is absolutely incredible and an angel. Hands down the nicest bartender/person ever. She deserves the world!! She served us drinks, made us pizza, gave us candies, and even took the time to write down recommendations for us to do in Boston WITHOUT US EVEN ASKING. She was nothing but kind to us even though we were loud with laughter and chatter. Everything about this hotel is great but Brook is the highlight. Rooms: Beds are SO comfy and love the amount of pillows. Safety: Need a card to both come into the lobby and elevator which is nice. And there is a security person stationed at the front. Food & drinks: Love having coffee in the lobby as well as flavored water. Great addition!!

Rooms : Bed wasn't made when I checked in. The pandemic is over - there is no reason not to offer housekeeping every day. It is a robbery that hotels have continued to trim their offerings while maintaining their price and holding on to their service standard. Service : Front-desk staff are quite frosty. Location : Pretty close to downtown but not an encouraging sign that the you always need to tap the door with your key card to enter or that there is a security guard at the front-door wearing a knife-proof vest. Parking : There is allegedly some on-site parking but pigs will fly before you can get one of those spots. The only realistic option is to park on the street. Breakfast : Pre-cooked fares, serviceable. Overall : Stay elsewhere. Safety: The neighbourhood that the hotel is located in doesn't feel safe.
