Very safe and family friendly place to live. Conveniently located to almost everything, clean building with nice view and multiple bldng services (24/7 gym, Concierge, on the spot laundry . . .). genuinely enjoyed living here.

I moved here 3 months ago from a much smaller community, no elevator, laundry not in every building. As a disabled woman with chronic pain, these additions have helped a lot. And then being literally right across the street from Silver Spring Station and so many doctors is amazing. My unit is also 300 more sq feet than my former place, and it has done wonders on my wellbeing, to have space to create and be. It is a dog-friendly complex so that has mostly been great. Cons: The price is a bit high for them to have pest problems. I use Hot Spot liquid bait traps and they work very well., I never see bugs in my unit unless I don't take the trash out regularly. Being here has also made me realize that dog-friendly does not mean the dogs (or their handlers) are friendly. There is this one dog that has been aggressively barking at my dog every time we encounter him and his handler. The dog barks extremely aggressively at my dog, has let other dogs come into the dog park, and walked over them to bark at my dog to keep her from coming into the dog park. This past week, I was going up the stairs after eye surgery, had a cane and was walking my dog. I did not feel I should have to walk all the way around to avoid that dog (I have had to do that several times in 3 months and I have had it!). The dog came charging up to the gate that is right next to the stairs. The dog started barking at me at the top of its lungs. The handler was on the other end talking to someone and not disciplining her dog AT ALL. I started to panic and lose my balance, so I stopped and yelled SHUT UP at the top of my lungs. The dog barked some more and then ran to its handler, who looked at me obnoxiously and said, "Excuse me?!?!" I just left and went home, tired and in pain from surgery and walking my dog right after. I was so upset the rest of the night. I literally am afraid every single time I see this dog and woman. She never disciplines the dog, and is so dismissive. It sometimes makes me wish I had moved somewhere else.

My wife and I have loved living in Blair East for the past 4 years due to the wonderful attention that Tower Management commits to the overall operation of their buildings. As a former property manager for residential real estate in the New York City area, I can say that the Tower Company (Blair East, Blair Plaza, Blair House and The Pearl) stands well above many residential rental communities in the DC area. Their attention to tenant relations is note-able compared to the management of other buildings that I have been familiar with. In addition, their concern for optimal upkeep of their physical plant and maintenance of their landscape operation is quite impressive. If you are looking for a new home, I believe that you would be quite impressed and happy to live in one of their buildings.
