Despite any inconvenience mentioned in other reviews, this is a very good place to live. Neighbors are generally considerate and management is helpful and responsive. Maintenance and cleaning staff are exceptional. Tasha is the best!

Im pretty sure there is no way to get in touch with anyone who works at this complex. Ive been emailing and calling nonstop for 3+ months. Update: it is 11/01 and I drove 40 minutes to come speak to someone due to my inability to get in contact with someone via phone. I took an information sheet out from the front door and when I drove home, the email was rejected. I am not sure if it is a fraudulent email address but you also are not able to get in contact with anyone via phone. You get sent straight to voicemail. I came back and drove another 40 minutes. The doors all locked and although the front desk associate leaves at 3 according to the sign on the office, all the lights are out. This is very unfortunate.

Affordable housing with an irresponsible management company. Read the many other very negative reviews about the management company on this review feed. I was reminded often from management to lower my expectations while living there. Extremely CHEAP CONSTRUCTION, constant MAINTENANCE ISSUES, non-stop VERY LOUD 24/7 DOG BARKING from an adjacent dog park, views of construction sites, dump sites and tow lots, WEEKLY questionable URINE in the ONE ALWAYS BROKEN ELEVATOR and hallways, personal mail and packages strewn about an UNFURNISHED EMPTY LOBBY, INCREDIBLE amounts of NOISE from neighbors in a residential setting from PAPER THIN WALLS AND FLOORS. Trash littered and disposed of around the building.....including a giant refuse pile in the garage. And that only scratches the service of the disturbing issues trying to live there. ARTSPACE the building owners are virtually invisible to the community and artist's don't be mislead.....there's no ARTS there. Residents are constantly treated as if they should be "grateful" for the affordable options which don't match the UNLIVABLE CONDITIONS in a lot of examples. To think some of those apartments go for Market value on Apartments.com is beyond a rip-off

This is not just an apartment building. It is a much needed non-profit community supporting veterans, artists of all ilk. Musicians, Dancers you name it. artspace locations are all around the country, Including 4 in the MD/DC region. For more info, go to artspace.org Im GRATEFUL for this opportunity to support our Veterans and struggling Arts District. Persistence and patience goes a long way. Theres a process to building cohesive communities that differs greatly from just renting a flat.

Neither of the "guides" who gave rave reviews actually live here. Billed as "affordable artist family live-work space" the housing is just a subsidized housing project. The apartment building has accessibility issues, ridiculously aggressive towing of residents and visitors, and divided between people of goodwill and neighborliness and residents indifferent to rules. "Maintenance" has been indifferent to grime, timely change of furnace filters - it's low-income and that seems to mean low care.. Built on the cheap and financed by sale of the adjacent townhouses, this campus offers artists with sufficient funds rental studios in the 'anchor' building - which have not even been available to be viewed by residents. If you are at 50% of median income or lower you will get a cheap flashy apartment. But the amenities are few, the convenience nil, and those at 60% median income units are not a bargain. You can spend your $1550 for more amenities elsewhere.
