        Chase has refused to reimburse me for more than $3,000.00 in checking account funds that were stolen by a domestic worker who got hold of my ATM card and PIN, which was hidden from view. They refuse to review the police report, and they state that I should have committed my PIN to memory rather than writing it down. I am 75 years old and have 3 other accounts which require me to use PINs. Chase maintains that since the ATM machines in question were chip-enabled, no unauthorized transactions could have taken place. I am reporting them to the Federal Comptroller of the Currency and other agencies, and have retained an attorney to represent me against Chase under the Electronic Transfer Act of 1978. Under the provisions of the law, Chase must pay the attorney's fees, and I am entitled to triple the amount in dispute due to punitive damages. I do not recommend Chase Debit or ATM cards, and in fact I cannot recommend the bank at all due to its exploitive policies.
