Residence Inn by Marriott Cedar Rapids

Easily the most disgusting, worn down Marriott branded hotel Ive ever stayed in. When staying in a hotel I know not to look too closely at cleanliness, but this was so horrific even a quick glance was enough to know this place hadnt had a deep clean/update since it was built in the 80s. Checked in to the room with a clogged, full toilet of #2 from the previous guest. The oven/microwave had never seen as much as a damp rag. Peeling paint and wallpaper, multiple cigarette burns in the carpet, missing fire alarm, the thickest layer of dust on any flat surface you could see. If it werent for traveling with two dogs and unpacking a majority of our things already we wouldve immediately left and continued on our trip, and thats after already driving for 10+ hours. Avoid this cesspool of a hotel at all costs, wouldnt stay here again if you paid me.

Rooms were ok, not much luxury, but it had all the basic items required. They also have breakfast and evening dinner as complimentary( usually hotels don't provide dinner) which was so good, they had cheese board, chips, burger and chicken wings with sauces and also severed beer with limit 2. On check in they also gave a small token which contained water bottle,chips and brownie

My family and I were in an apartment fire and lost everything! Our insurance company set us up to stay here! From the moment we arrived they were amazing! Our room was clean and comfortable and staff was exceptional! Thank you Jo and Amy for your service!

We had a house fire back in August and will be here until at least February. Despite the stress of a family of 4 with animals living in a hotel room , this place has really made a tough situation easy and comforting . Jessica is great and has been a friend to my daughter, Ryley had been amazing and great with our animals. Jo in the morning who feeds our family and Diana in the evenings are like family members. Everyone is so welcoming and kind. I couldnt think of a better place to stay during this time in our lives. Thank you all.
