Rude nurses aides that you have to go find never in a residents room, out side smoking on lunch or just hiding. Very impatient with older residents. THE smell is like no other nursing home. Please if you car and love your family look around for better place. PLEASE

My mother is staying here post-surgery. She has only been here for a few days and is already pleading to leave. Walking into the front foyer gives you the vibes that this place is nice and decently upkept. Once you go past there, things go downhill. The rooms are very, VERY dated. The rooms look like they haven't been updated since the 1970s. Old wooden cabinets that are more appropriately sized for one person, not two. Old-fashioned florescent light fixtures that are just barely bright enough to call the room decently-lit. Old tile flooring that probably hasn't been properly swept since its installation. This place is in need of renevations and better overall care. This seems like a good time to talk about the overall cleanliness of the facility. This place does not do a good job maintaining its premises. The custodian does indeed refill the soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers but does not seem to understand that their job also includes sweeping the floors. The floors are very dirty, dirty enough to leave stains on the socks of its patrons. A facility that is supposed to be helping the elderly and sick should, at the very least, be tidy and clean. A clean space is absolutely necessary to keep your patrons happy and healthy. Unfortunately, the custodian isn't the only staff member that appears to be lacking. It appears to also be the entire nursing staff! My mother has already been telling me about incidents she has had with: 1. Being on hold for an hour for a call 2. Not receiving her medicine in a consistent and timely manner 3. Not receiving her meal in a timely manner (while I was visiting her) 4. Not receiving any kind of toiletries just to shower or bathe 5. Not even having her television plugged in to watch any TV or movies I get the impression that the staff either are not up to the task of caring for their patrons, or they simply do not care. If you are not up to the task, or just flat out don't care about your job, there is nothing wrong with a change of career. In fact, you might be doing the residents a favor if you do decide to change jobs. All in all, this place leaves me very unimpressed and definitely not worthy of its nearly flawless reviews. All the folks leaving five-star reviews fail to see what is actually going on at this facility. The people working at this facility have only one thing on their minds: earning a paycheck. It's not their fault, though. It's because all management cares about is their profit margins. Their minds are not on the wellness of your mother, grandmother, aunt, uncle, whoever is here. In fact, their minds aren't even on their own wellness considering how many of them appear to go take smoke breaks. I would bet that if most of the folks leaving five-star reviews were to ever be a resident here, their attitudes toward this place would change quickly.

The facility looks nice from the outside, you ring the bell to enter, nothing happens, you see an empty desk, and wait for ever for someone to come let you in, when someone does you see they were standing with a group of other employees standing maybe 100 feet from the desk obviously chit chatting, and this happened all 4 times I was there within a 16 hour period. Patients were abundantly wondering the halls seeking assistants from the staff whom were running around like headless chickens. No one had the slightest idea of what they were doing, nor why my wife was being transferred from the hospital due to the file not being sent ahead of her. The rooms were tiny and looked like the had bee built in the late 50's and last maintained in the mid 70's, there were very old gas and water pipes running along the top of every wall. There was 1 bathroom with one old dirty toilet with nothing else. 1 connecting bathroom for every 2 rooms. Everywhere seemed overflowing with patients and severely under staffed. We arrived around 1:00pm and they didn't have my wife's meds in stock, told it would take. 3 hours, it arrived at 4:30am,(right after she called me to come get her out of that nightmare, they didn't even feed her any dinner. I arrived at 4:50am and waited to be let in for 35 minutes. When I checked my wife out of there I was informed I might be billed because she left AMA, even though she never saw a doctor. Plus she wasn't allowed to take the meds her insurance just paid for.
