    I gave this 2 stars because of the gray bearded maintenance guy that works there, I think all the people I did speak to, which were not many, said his name is Howard, I stayed for 3 weeks and he was so polite, helpful, and put me at ease any chance I interacted with him. I had several issues with the plumbing in my bathroom, my door lock, and I was uncomfortable with the other workers there. Howard was the only one that I saw on a very constant basis, day or night, no matter that he was always exhausted, he was ALWAYS busy doing something. From maintenance issues, to housekeeping, to working in the office. I never saw any of the other workers as much, no, I always saw him, and he was always putting me at ease. Now, I am hearing that for some reason, he is being let go. This is the reason I am writing this review. He, the maintenance/housekeeping/office guy, really is the one doing his best to clean this little motel up and is such an asset. I truly hope the management and owners rethink their decision with this guy. I came to stay in September of 2023 for the very first time and I chose somewhere else due to the property care, the office workers, how badly run down, filthy, outdated and damaged the room I had been given was. There was cockroaches running all over the place and they didn't seem to care, I'm sure there WERE other bugs but I didn't stay and was refused a refund, even with my complaints to the office. I gave the motel the another chance again and stayed for a total of 3 weeks the end of February and ended my stay recently. That's when I met Howard. I was checked in by another person who never once really looked up at me, obviously was upset, and seemed very monotone when talking to me. Howard actually was coming by and looked like he was on a mission, and I stopped him to ask where the room was, he stopped what he was doing and took me to the room. He even stayed at the door while I checked out the room. I was actually pleased, granted the room was still lacking to my own standards, but I was no longer uncomfortable with staying IN the room. I talked to him a bit about what he does and what my experience was like previously. He apologized and told me they are working very hard to clean up the motel for the owners. During the 3 week stay, I did hear a lot less fighting, yelling, and there wasn't open drug deals going on all around. The parking lot looked rather clean except when the wind blew, someone really does need to fix all those potholes in the driveway though. I saw him many times, sometimes as early as 6:30 or 7 am heading to work in either the laundry room or to sweep or even go in the office. There were 2 other ladies and I think a rather older guy working there at the motel. I never really saw the older guy, except when the TV was having issues pretty late at night. The younger lady was always cussing and yelling when she would come outside, there was an older lady that seemed to be in a bad mood all the time. I stopped asking her for anything when she came around for housekeeping due to her attitude. I would always talk to Howard. He was the one there that didn't show that I was a nuisance in asking for anything. He's the employee that any employer, in their right mind and with any good business sense would keep there. Reason being, he's the one that is making all the changes that convinced me to stay longer than the 4 days that I had planned. So, to management and the owner or owners, if you read these, DO NOT let this worker (Howard) go, I can foresee your little motel going back to drug haven, criminal place to be, bug infested, health and safety issues it was when I previously stayed. If it wasn't for Howard and all the work and help I seen him put into your motel, I would be giving your motel 1 star, 0 stars if I could, I would also report to agencies that could get the motel shut down for all the issues, and I would NEVER would be back again or even suggest to ANYONE to stay at your property. Entire review in noteworthy details! Noteworthy details: I refuse to come back or suggest this motel if Howard is not there. He really is the backbone that is doing what should be done to clean up your motel and keep it running. Without him, it will be a safe haven for drugs and criminal activities, and a health and safety HAZARD!
