great home audio store with a large assortment of new and drool-worthy vintage audio gear harkening back to the era of "stereo". great feeling walking into this smallish cramped shop jammed to the ceiling with amps, receivers, turntables, speakers and tuners. owner dave greeted me and we talked gear and specs for a while ( don't say 'watts' ! ) but then he took me into the back where the real magic is. cluttered workbench, more stacks and stacks of gear and a listening setup with an old beat up legit copy of 'sticky fingers' on the table. "oh I've been sleeping under strange strange skies" this is a great source of state of the art new home audio gear (at great prices) and a great resource for finding that tasty vintage 70s era receiver that like me you just must have. he didn't have the one I was looking for but as he patiently explained they don't make them anymore, he can't order one and you just can't find them. the demand is up, they're getting old, and fewer and fewer guys are willing or able to repair them. so I'll continue my quest for a mint yamaha natural sound cr-1000 but for awhile i was a young guy again, fresh out of college with a job, a pocket full of disposable cash, and the new beatles album was on wxrt. thanks dave.

The guy is a ripoff! He down talks your equipment on a trade ! For example I offered him a denon pma 2000r integrated amp in new condition and a bryston 2b Lp power amplifier and he acted like he never heard of bryston then acted like he was looking it up and said yeah nothing special about that name brand but I'll take it on a trade but your still far away from getting the Heathkit preamp! I will never go there again! Just like Saturday audio ripoff and decibel all ripoff artists! Better off going to soundsclassicvideo lab in Rockford IL! Mark Peabody treats people right

This place must be a front for someone's money laundering because I don't know how they stay in business. I've been in some goodwill stores that had a bigger and better selection of audio .TOtal joke walked in and right out it was that small nothing in there was impressive or caught my eye. Honestly don't know how they stay in business I'm sure the owners might be great people and not trying to bad mouth them but I drove a long distance and had to pay a parking meter to look around for less than one minute which is sad cause there aren't any good audio stores around anymore to check out good speaker and stereo equipment.

Just like with used cars, used cell phones, used musical instruments, used, guns, used computers, used cameras and used pro audio equipment a blue book is also used for home audio components to base trade in amounts. The equipment you mention is nice equipment however say the filter capacitors in a unit are no longer good (even though it still plays) that can result in AC ripple being sent to speakers that can damage them. For us to be able to sell that equipment to a new owner we must first replace questionable components in the unit. In the case of the Bryston amplifier, it is a dual mono unit that requires four short size filter capacitors this can have a large effect on the trade in value of the unit. This is why we can not give a absolute value on any unit before first inspecting first. When we sell a used home audio component the filter capacitors are checked, other capacitors are checked for overheating and dreaded brown glue that can become conductive when dried out is removed, switches are cleaned plus the Bias and DC offset are checked in receivers and amplifiers before we will put them up for sale. We would like to give more units in great working condition as then we do not have to put as much time and money into it and you get more trade in value for it.
