We were planning to purchase a timeshare. So we came in a marketing deal. Beware that they will put you in a standard room which is old, smelly. The room was so bad (think motel vibes) that we almost checked out 15 min after we checked in. No way that we flew this far for a disgusting room. Not what we expected from a Hilton.
I went to front desk and asked how do I get a better room. I was willing to pay because I knew I came in on a discount rate. Thankfully we were given an updated room which was more modern and what you expect from a timeshare. It was a studio and smaller than what we preferred but it was 10x better. There is no washing machine in the room which was disappointing but there is a laundromat. Depending on the room type, you may have to pay (if card machine works). If in a standard gross room then you pay. If you get the updated room then you do not have to pay. The laundry rooms are different. Of course the free one was more modern and air conditioned. The other was in an old, hot room. I was given misinformation and directed there even after I got into the better room. A guy told me that he was charged $90 for washing his clothes because the card swipe malfunctioned. Again not what you expect from a Hilton.
The resort itself is beautiful. Lots of pools and a nice lagoon beach. The water is freezing so be prepared. Lots of things for kids to do but no kids club.
Coolest thing was seeing actual fish, sea turtles, seals, manta rays in the lagoon.
The resort is huge and lots of walking. There is a tram but it is super slow. One can walk faster. There is also limited boat shuttle service but also slow and only operates 2pm-10pm.
Nui restaurant was terrible. It's Italian. We prob should have gotten the pizza vs the pasta. The breakfast buffet was delicious but very expensive. KPC was definitely our favorite but super expensive. 2 adults and a 4 year old and we spent almost $300 for dinner.
We didn't get the timeshare because the sales person really wanted to go home.....at least that is how it felt to us. There was a property overview that she dropped us off at because it would "shorten her presentation and then we could quickly get to the money." The presentation was confusing and we left with more questions than answers. She assumed that we were the kinds of people that stay at motel 6 even after I told her my Marriott and Hilton status. I even mentioned places that we have traveled around the world like Costa Rica, Europe, etc. She offered us a basic package every other year. The points value was so low that we knew it would be unusable. WheN I stated that her proposal didn't meet our travel needs. Her response "ok, thank you. Let me get your free gift and get you out of here." So much for purchasing a timeshare.....Smh

Thank you very much for your stay at Ocean Tower.
I think the best way to get from the airport is by renting a car, and some tourists asked me how they got to the hotel during their stay. There are many attractions near the hotel. Self-parking is far and vast, but you can park according to your birthday number (lol). Also, it's pitch black, so you don't have to worry about self-parking, so it's a good point for stargazing. The starry sky is beautiful even from Ocean Tower. Trams run slowly and safely. On the boat, you can communicate with other passengers by telling jokes. There were no particular problems with the rooms, the amenities were minimal, and I thought they were environmentally friendly. Bring your own toothbrush. Other than that, I think there will be no problem if you tell the front desk. There are a large number of Mukudori near the Ocean Tower. I didn't mind the noise, but my wife was surprised.

Have visited the Hilton Waikoloa Village on 4 occasions now over the past 11 years time. They began renovating the Ocean Tower about 2 years ago and its still underway. Rooms do need a refresh so its time for the renovation. The location has great sunsets. The restaurants availability and in number/volume has dwindled somewhat post-COVID so thats a bit disappointing but those that are there are good. Pools are plentiful. Both self and valet parking on site. Plan on walking a fair amount, which I enjoy, but there is a tram that operates (slowly) and in afternoon/evenings there is a boat that does the same for transport options around the property.

Literally everything you could ever want, but only one option of it. The parking is a gigantic hassle. You either spend $50 for the valet or $48 to park it yourself (pro tip: park it yourself and tell the valet desk youre visiting from another hotel and theyll validate your parking). The 10-15 minute train, boat, or roughly 1 mile walk from the main entrance to your room gets old.
If you want to go to a place that you never have to leave, youre going to love it. If youre like me and want to spend as little time as possible at the hotel, youll hate it.
Rooms: We had a remodeled room that was very nice. Huge bed, great view, a bidet with heated water, and a large kitchenette.
Walkability: If you have mobility issues, youre going to be frustrated.
