In 2021, I was in need of a contractor to rehab my father's home to a rental. My father was ill and therefore my intention was to generate rental income so that the funds could help to care for him. Kewin Lyles, owner of Winners Construction LLC, was referred to me by plumber that I had to inspect my father's home. I met him at the home and shortly thereafter he gave me a quote for repairs. Not knowing much about rehabbing, I looked online to find average costs to determine if his quote was appropriate. With this little knowledge, I signed the contract and work began in the latter half of July. Per the contract - it was to be completed at the end of August. At first, I was pleased with the progress. He took a trip to Jamaica and work paused but I remained flexible. During this time unfortunately my father's condition worsened and I was unable to keep an eye on the project closely. He unfortunately passed in mid-October and I brought on a property manager to help me with the rental of the home. I quickly discovered that while I was caretaking for my father Kewin was not upholding his end of the contract. I had paid all monies by the designated timelines however the work remained incomplete. I had another contractor to assess the work and he said I certainly was overcharged for the amount and quality of work that was done on the home. Kewin then assured me that it would be completed in Nov/Dec and it was not. (I suspect he also has not been paying certain sub-contractors because one day my new contractor went to the home and someone was REMOVING my countertop because he had not paid them). He later said he was "sick" and "out of the country." When I asked for him to refund my money for the items that were not completed he continued to call and say that he would but a refund was never made. I have been more than flexible however I have had to pay additional monies to complete my father's home and to correct poor work done by Kewin and his team. It is clear he not only took advantage of a women but a person who clearly was in the process of grieving the loss of a loved one. Spend your money elsewhere. I have since filed paperwork with the Better Business Bureau and now have legal counsel. Save yourself the headache. Service: Remodeling

Update-I reached out to Kelwin regarding additional information and he was unresponsive. In addition, ask for current background checks for his employees. You will be surprised and not want them in your home.

Winners Construction transformed my closed off dark basement into a gorgeous new family area with a custom bar. The detail work is stunning! Kewin provided so many ideas regarding what I was looking for and really created a unique custom space. I would highly recommend him and his team and will absolutely be using him again for future projects.
