    The woman working today (1/15/23) was extremely rude and snappy with me for asking basic questions. When I asked for her name she put me on hold until I was forced to hang up. Very unprofessional and a formal complaint was made.

    In a time where customer service is subpar at best, here was an experience that was spectacular. Having rented from Avis for over 10 years, with many different locations around the country, this experience far surpassed any experience that I have had. Adrian was phenomenal! The details: My reservation was placed early (a month or so) and I checked in early with the app so that I could quickly get my reservation, but as we all know, technology is fantastic when it works and terrible when it doesnt. It did not work well. When I went to get the vehicle it was not available. There were only two available that were ready. Neither would work for what I needed. Adrian was patient and searched for a solution. We found one and the car was exactly what I wanted/ needed for the drive. I had to cancel the reservation and get make another one on the spot for it to happen. It worked. There was a snafu with the rate that I had because of the early reservation, it was over $60 more than my original price. Technology blip. Again, Adrian figured out a solution to the issue. And to finish off this perfect storm of issues, my card would not authorize due to an already charged reservation. Adrian figured that out as well and got me driving for $12 more than my original reservation with the same card. Most of my experiences with Avis have been ok, with very few being memorable. Most people after the first hiccup would have said I am sorry, you can try another location, blah,blah blah.. but Adrian was a champion in my corner for this rental. When needed again, I will rent from this Avis again.

    I booked a reservation for a mini-van two months ahead of a vacation. The mini-van was necessary to be able to comfortably hold the number of occupants and belongings. The day before my scheduled pickup, I receive an email confirming my reservation and that my vehicle was ready for pickup. I arrive the next day at noon for the pickup of the minivan to be told that there were no minivans available nor any other vehicle for that matter. The attendant advised that she attempted to contact me two days prior but realized she did not have my phone information and could not call, although I still managed to receive a confirmation email which is ANOTHER form of communication that could've been relayed. I immediately contacted customer service and the attendant made little to no attempt to resolve. There were not other vehicles available in the immediate area and just gave a simple "I'm sorry". The service member could've checked with other rental car companies, checked if there was another vehicle available outside of the general area (Orlando, Sarasota, at least give me options), checked to see if I had any flexibility where I could pick up the next day. Nothing, just offering me to cover for any excess cost over the current reservation if I could find a reservations for a like car through another agency. So get this, the service member made hardly no attempt to help and basically left it to me, the CUSTOMER to resolve an issue they created. I requested a call from a manager or supervisor on Friday 3/12/21--- no call. I filled out an escalation form on their customer service website on 3/16/21. Received an email on 3/17/21 that the case was being reviewed. It is now 4/9/21 and still no further communication from Avis. I have sent two emails and a new escalation form in that time. To wrap up, I ended up scrambling and losing a day of my PTO on 3/12/21 to find a vehicle at a local toyota dealership. The SUV was smaller and higher priced leading to an uncomfortable ride to North Carolina. If Avis had a shred of decency, they would reimburse me for the ENTIRE cost that I paid to rent and give me some initiative to say, "try us again, this will never happen a second time". But, I've heard nothing. Shame on this company. I would give it zero stars if I could

The details:
My reservation was placed early (a month or so) and I checked in early with the app so that I could quickly get my reservation, but as we all know, technology is fantastic when it works and terrible when it doesnt. It did not work well.
When I went to get the vehicle it was not available. There were only two available that were ready. Neither would work for what I needed.
Adrian was patient and searched for a solution. We found one and the car was exactly what I wanted/ needed for the drive. I had to cancel the reservation and get make another one on the spot for it to happen. It worked.
